I was actually leaning towards Celtic winning the league anyway because of the partnership Jota and Kyogo had struck up but this now confirms it. And with a title win this season they get automatic entry into the group stages of the champions league. What a difference from the start of the season when it looked like Rangers were surging ahead of Celtic. Now with Rangers making huge financial losses it looks like Celtic could be about to embark on another period of domestic dominance.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

This is a delicate one for them.
Were the people he brought in enticed by the club or the manager. No matter what, it is interesting times for the Ibrokes mob.
The other thing about this is when Lennon won the 9 in a row nobody in the Premiership was knocking at his door to entice him to the top tier in England. So there must me a high regard of the man in the footballing circles in England.

Oh no he won't.
McInnes snubbed them not so long ago. I'm sure the power brokers down Ibrox way haven't forgiven or forgotten. I seem to remember that they thought they only had to whistle and he'd run all the way from Aberdeen. Journalists were asking him about the Rangers vacancy after every Aberdeen game, so much so, that his team became unsettled and produced some indifferent results, having previously been Celtic's nearest challengers.
He turned Rangers down, in spite of repeated approaches from the club. The narrative coming out of Ibrox afterwards was that McInnes had realised that the job was too big for him and he didn't have the bottle for it.

Yup , Agree 100% 1970par, Brendan Rodgers took over Celtic, dominated Scottish football for 3 or 4 seasons.
Stevie G as I've stated before , He won the all important title to stop celtics 10 in a row. If he had stayed in charge for another season to steady the ship and give Rangers a firm footing, win the league again or not, would have shown a bit class.
To walk away leaving a reported £25m in debt won't sit well with ibrox faithful. And could send them years back.
But I still Believe he has more chance becoming Rangers boss again before he even gets a sniff of the Anfield hotseat

Overheard two Rangers fans talking about this in Hamilton earlier.
Saying Gerrard was a traitor and a Judas.
That he had earned enough money through his career that he didn't need to move to England for money and should be staying with "The biggest club in the world"
I just shook my head in disbelief and had a wee chuckle at how quickly they have turned on someone they idolised a matter of days ago.

Turned on Talksport last night about 515 and a Rangers fan called Gordon was on debating the Rangers were better than Villa. He started off ok but then he started reverting to type saying Rangers would horse Villa and that Rangers were better because they had beaten teams like Braga and Villarreal.
The presenter pointed out that Villa had won the European Cup and Gordon pointed out that they beat Leeds home and away and would have got to the final bar crooked refs against Marseille ( I know - ironic )
He then plumbed new depths when he said that the SPL must be better than the EPL because Shane Duffy couldn`t get a game for Celtic but could for Brighton. He repeated Duff`s name about six times in a minute, in a child like manner
I was embarrassed for him

What old firm fans don`t really grasp is that a manager is never really going to prove themselves managing either of the 2 of them. If you come second you`re a dud and if you win the league you`ve only done what`s expected. Already we hear claims that Rangers won the league because Celtic were crap. As Celtic fans have shown, you can win every domestic trophy for 4 years and still be disgruntled. If you want to prove to the world (and to yourself) that you`re a top manager you can`t do it in Scotland.

My prediction.... Gerrard will fail at Villa... Get punted.. and end up as Klopps no2 until another lower league job crops up or Klopp moves on.
It's too early in his managerial career to be manager of an EPL club.
I understand why he's taken the job but it's too soon for him.
Just my opinion.

That's very true. Was watching an old Walter Smith documentary and he relayed the pressure he was under when the old Rangers had won 8 in a row.
He said "Had we failed to get the nine in a row, I'd be remembered as that instead of the manager who achieved eight in a row"
That's the goldfish bowl of Glasgow for you.

Naa Widtink he wouldn`t get it if that scenario happened I reckon.
Pep Lijnders is highly rated by Klopp and the hierarchy hence why he was promoted to Asst manager after Buvac left.
As for Gerrard he is definitely Liverpools next manager. His deal with Villa ends at the same time Klopp`s does. Hmm.
Done well at Sevco, now needs EPL experience. Makes sense to me. I hope does well.

Out of that madhouse will be a good move for him. No pressure to win every game . Coming up against the best coaches and a nice £5m a year . Great career move for Gerrard. I suppose you could counter that with no European football and not a chance of a trophy. Relegation dog fights and mid table finishes.

Aye, the True Blues are not taking it very well at all, are they? There`s a lot hate and bitterness out there on social media. It`s shocking and funny at the same time.
It all stems from the delusion that Therangers are a big club, bigger than Villa, bigger than any club in the EPL, actually, the most successful and decorated club in world football. How could Gerrard be so crazy as to leave such a wonderful institution for a diddy wee English club, who they hope will now be relegated and him sacked. Any reasonable fan, would thank him for leading the club to their first league title and wish him well in his continuing apprenticeship for the Liverpool job. Is it a coincidence that his contract with Villa will expire at the same time as Klopp has said he will leave?
Eta. Sorry, I don`t know how to shorten the link. Maybe Admin can oblige? Thanks.

There was certainly a lot of anger directed at Rodgers, always a Par and accusations of him being a "Judas" as he was seen as a Celtic fan. (Not sure if he'd said it himself?) Gerrard has always been a Liverpool fan and has ambitions to manage them when Klopp calls it a day. Why shouldn't he take the opportunity to cut his teeth in the EPL and continue his apprenticeship? It's highly unlikely he'd be considered for the Liverpool job if he'd stayed at Ibrox. The EPL is on another level, whether we like it or not.
Tierney also got a lot of grief, which is also wrong, but fans tend to idolise players far more than managers. Even we Pars fans are not above that sort of thing. Remember George O'Boyle? When he returned to EEP as a St Johnstone player there were plenty of unsavoury shouts and even a "There's only one Irish Paki" song. Fortunately, he seemed to take it all in good spirits.
Some Rangers fans always want to bring religion into it. I just can't get my head round that.

When a Swansea fan came on here asking about Dorus someone on here was telling him that he was taking a big step back I his career moving to Swansea from the mighty Pars. Checked online under life size cardboard cut out , he is the first Celebrity on screen.
Which makes me think they sold a few.
Read somewhere yesterday but can't find it again, stating None of the players Stevie G signed at Ibrox have been SOLD, there were a couple (lafferty being one) that had been bought then given a free. Rangers board not Happy that no money was coming in.
It seems to me Gerrard had an ageing squad , and I'm wondering if board has told him to sell before he can buy, Obviously no one is going to buy the older players. 🤔

It's only taken a dozen or so games 68.
It was win at all costs last season. I also believe rangers feked up by not tying stevie G to a longer term contract, money is no option in the EPL, another 2 years on his contract could have earned them around £10m instead of £3m. Unless Gerrard decided not to sign extension if there was no cash for transfers
