That suggests he`s happy with his lot as a part-time manager with a job outside football.

It could also show Montrose are making sure they will get decent compensation when a full time club eventually gives him the opportunity.

Could this have originated from us showing a little bit of interest in Petrie, timings a bit of a coincidence.

Good move from Montrose though.

We need to move on. If he ever had any ambition to step up and if we wanted him, this would be the time. Not to be so let's get behind our new manager

Yep. Agreed. Too much of a coincidence in the timing of new Petrie's contract to be unrelated to our situation IMHO.

If you read the story on COWS, 're the recruitment process, it says the club contacted a couple of managers who didn't apply. My money would be on Petrie and Robertson.

I bet we made an approach and that spurred them on to tie him up.

I hope so, that proves that board covered all bases unlike when PG was appointed

They must be safeguarding themselves for some compo incase Petrie sneaks them up this season and maybe a bottom 6 premier league club fancies taking a chance and can make it worth it for him over his day job.
