A nice 8 hour round trip for the Inverness fans, I love it when the fans are taken in to account when planning these matches.

Been a good game. No walkovers in this league, are there? Just proves what a massive win that was for us last week.

Most folk will think that's a good result for us, keeping our relegation rivals in range.
I just can't, even at this stage, give up on the hope of a forth spot.
I recon we will catch the teams immediately above us and I don't fear relegation. For that reason I want the top 4 to drop points more than worrying about the bottom 4 gaining a few here and there.

It’s funny how fans operate, been guff all season and now a new manager and one win away at Inverness and we’re playoff contenders…

Let’s just see how it goes, primary aim is getting out of the bottom two so an ICT win was a good result for us last night.

To be fair Berry , I never thought we were relegation candidates, even under PG

I understand what you are saying PARrot but a win for the Pars today with the top teams also winning (as the rest of today’s programme is set up as top half bottom half) would mean we were already clear of relegation as long as we keep winning.
We could be in a much more positive mindset after today if we see the top teams winning & this would be better for fans & players alike to start “Plan B” ie starting from next week, closing the 11 point gap to 5th etc which will be a much longer haul
My only other want for today is Arbroath to beat Killie

Anyways, getting ahead of myself & 3 points to the Pars is the only thing on my Xmas list today

I didnt think so either. I accept there was a possibility but always thought we would somehow get it right. Maybe after the Morton match I was beginning to worry though.

I wouldn't say I expect us to contend, i just haven't ruled it out. Win the head to heads and the gaps reduce to what looks achievable.

We will see what happens today though.

I was hopeful we'd turn a corner before the Morton game. That was an awful result. We looked doomed

With all due respect my venerable feathered friend, I can see no reason whatever even to fantasize about fourth.

Partick are currently in fourth. 14 games 24 points. At that rate they`ll finish on about 61 points.

Pars 14 games 10 points. To get to 61 we`d need the equivalent of 17 wins from 22 games.

Yes 17 wins from 22 games ha ha ha ha ha they`re coming tae take us away ha ha!

Aye, right, so thats how you see it. Quite convincing when you read those stats, but a lot of assumptions.

Here are my assumptions.

Lets assume we beat Partick in our remaining head to heads.

Now we are only 8 pts behind.
Partick lose to Raith and Killie and we win those weeks.
2 points in it.

One draw when we win and its game on.

Anyhoo, long way to go.
Fact is if we beat them twice, 8 points doesn't look unsurmountable.

Big if but possible.

We were struggling but I felt we had enough fire power up front and Connelly and Gaspuitis looked like they were gelling at the back, and losing silly goals since Fon Williams got the gloves back, only real problem was center midfield

I haven`t made any assumptions - just extrapolated from the evidence.

And on today`s results the evidence is in favour of whoever finishes fourth accumulating even more than 61 points. Partick and Arbroath currently each have 27 points from 15 games, equating to 65 points from 36 games.

I agree with you that whoever will finish fourth can no longer rely on getting easy points from us, but it`s a stretch to think we`ll beat them home and away. I`m not saying we`ll definitely need to have 61 points for fourth, but extrapolating from the evidence in that way gives a guide that`s based on something rather than hee haw.
