I’m so pleased he got a couple of goals and got that monkey off his back.
There is a huge opportunity for Lewis to be our main striker.
He certainly has the attributes to be a good asset for us

Great performance from him today. Think he suprised a lot of us today, including myself. With 3 more established strikers on the bench, he had to perform and he certainly delivered. Led the line superbly and 2 well taken goals. I think he will enjoy his Saturday night. Well done Lewis and hopefully a lot more to come.

Finally showed what he can bring to the squad. We all knew there was a quality player there and all it needed was a manager who could make him feel 10ft tall. Was very chuffed for him today. Dow played well also as it was a surprise to see none of our main front three starting.

Deserved his opportunity. Grabbed it. His place to lose now as far as I'm concerned. Excellent performance

Played really well harassing their back line. If he can improve his first touch he could be a solid player

So happy for Lewis having watched him, Paul Allan and Matty Todd in the reserves playing for Greig Shields it is great to see them all feature in today`s win. Well done Lewis you had a great game.

Heard such positive things about the lad but he never seemed to be able to produce it in games. Great to see him take those goals today and can see him feeling better next time he plays especially if we play like we did today created a decent amount of chances, not just that but the quality of chances were so much better.
Hopefully will grow more and more confident and play a starring role in our Comeback

Great performance by Mccann. Not only his goals but his hold up play bringing others into the game was also impressive

Great game by the lad. He’s a real handful for any CH. His first was shear power and determination to get to the ball. His second a well placed shot in the corner. Led the line well and won a lot in the air, he has pace, ability & desire.
Keep it up Lewis……

Totally agree. Really pleased for him. Always felt there was a player in there, and playing in his favoured position, he's starting to show it...

Agree with the above.
I feel he also needs to learn how to use his body better, I’ve had the misfortune of playing/training against a former pro centre forward before and the good pros know how to get their body in between defender and ball; and use their arms to pin you and turn etc. If he could do that better with his physique he’d be a rolls-Royce of a boy. Delighted for him today tho, deserved to start again and took his chance!

The lad played in his natural position and has been told he can be the main man and to keep hold of the shirt, he has went from McCanny to McCann, well done you became a man today

Lewis is only 20 years old. Plenty of time to continue to develop and could do really well for us. But several players had great games for us today.

Delighted for him, has had to be patient for his chance to play up front but given the form of our other strikers he's been able to grab it with both hands. Hopefully he can kick on from here and along with our other youth players we can develop them into first team regulars for the future of the club.

From other end of the pitch, his second goal looked like a tap in but from the highlights it was actually a really tidy finish!
It might be tough competition for places in the team for our strikers now as Dorrans in a 3-man central midfield looked really good as well, which favours one up front.

Goals are now available on the `tweets` section on COWS. Delighted for McCann to break his duck but Dow also did well to lose his marker at the second goal.

On the 30th of January 2020 three young players signed 2 year contracts, these were Paul Allan, Lewis McCann and Matty Todd. Not sure if they expire in January 2022 or at end of season.
All three are now part of our 1st team squad and getting starts and goals never mind sub appearances.
COVID has probably hindered their development but should we now be signing them up to develop them all into 1st team regulars on longer term contracts.
Is our youth development/ Greg Shields now producing?

What a difference a manager who gives clear instructions and sets out the players in their positions makes.
We might go on losing streaks, but the players were playing like a unit- they never `downed tools` as some were saying, but we`re just set up in a bizarre way, hopefully confidence keeps improving.
We have been signing and trying to produce young players for a while now, some don`t make it, or have the right mentality, but some will- good stuff, and our coaching staff deserve credit.

Happy to see him playing and taking his chances. My sense is that he has always been a hard worker, but from the highlights, he is getting himself in good positions -- he had several other chances apart from his two goals.
