Confirmed on COWS. He`s 43 but in reasonable shape. He worked with Mehmet, who is two weeks away from fitness, at Dundee United. JH says NA is already impressed by Jakob.

Good experience to replace losing OFW and if forced to go in for a game or two I`m sure he`d be fine for us despite not playing professionally in a few years

I think Jim Leighton and Alan Main were still playing at Alexander`s age. Did Hibs not play a vintage English goalkeeper, whose name escapes me?
Not your average Sunday League player.

That`s the one, mate. I had Joe Corrigan in my head, but knew that wasn`t right. Burridge must have been well over 40 when he played for Hibs.

John `Budgie` Burridge was 41 when he left Hibs in August 93 but he had a few clubs after that. Wikipedia has him registered with us in 1994 (!) although he made no appearances but he did play for Aberdeen, Dumbarton, Falkirk and QOS. I think he made himself available as an emergency goalie. His last recorded club in the UK is Blyth Spartans where he was player/manager in 1997/98. He`s now working as a consultant and coach in India at the age of 70.

I seem to remember when Burridge was with Hibs he travelled to and from Newcastle every day by train and kept a moped at Waverley station he used to get him to and from the training ground. I’m sure the Papers ran a story on this prior to the 91 League cup final.
