I would love to see him in the middle of our midfield, however we couldn`t afford him . So it won`t happen

Have we ever had an amateur player in living memory ?

Maybe that left winger Mark (?) Williams who was a Royal Navy PTI at Rosyth - not sure if he had to sign as an amateur or not - part time certainly as and when his duties permitted presumably.

Not that a player of Scott Brown’s stature would revert to amateur status, that’s not going to happen.

Have to admit I wondered why he didn`t consider a move out to The MLS or the A-League for a year or two. Would transfer windows stil permit that?

Jake Hyde was on amateur terms to get around the transfer rules the last time we won the championship/1st division.

playing is out the window but if there is a link between Hughes and Brown, he might turn up at training now and again like Rice was doing i suppose.

We`d have been better off signing a real amateur - Hamilton was a complete donkey. 🙁

GG is on the wind up this week, first the Arbroath Post, now this. Jim wasn`t the silkiest footballer but played much of his career in the top tier getting his fair share of goals

He might have had a decent career but he was pretty hopeless in a Pars top, red star. I can`t think of even one decent game he had for us, but happy to be corrected. How can we ever forgive him for getting needlessly sent off in v Hacken in Sweden?

I wouldn`t call him a donkey, but I tend to agree with GG here.

He was a decent striker in his day, but looking at the stats you can see that his day was probably between 94 to 99. We unfortunately signed him during his night.

True, donkey is quite harsh. I think my judgement was coloured by his "performance" in Sweden.

Definitely a coo though. 😉

If that`s the case Scott Brown wouldn`t be made very welcome in the dressing room here. I would imagine he doesn`t like shirkers, sh1ters, folk that hide and generally don`t pull their weight. He has been used to winning, and playing with winners. He would be wanting to scrap every single one of the losers in our dressing room

You can only change your registration within a transfer window. If he was still registered with Aberdeen when the window closed at the end of January then he’s not allowed to register and play with anyone else until the window opens again.

At the risk of being provocative to those who carry a bright torch for Scott Brown it seems to my very neutral observation that as his footballing prowess is tailing off with age, he makes up for that by his infantile attempts to wind up opposition players. The effect of his time at Aberdeen has hardly improved their performances and with the introduction of their new manager it looks like they were glad to be shot of him.

Well I for one would like to see him at EEP. He may be near the end of his playing career we could use him sparingly. The wealth of experience he would bring and with the future DAFC ACADEMY in the making, yes i would say yes take the chance , we are not in the position too be turning this down....that`s if we get the chance even if it is just till the end of the season.

He’s currently training with us and helping with training, the same way Brian rice and John Collins were. Appears he’s still wanting to be involved in playing so it’s not a far fetched idea that he could dawn the black and white stripes.

I’m here to take over!!
