So Chelsea as an asset is now frozen.
This means he can’t sell the club but also means that the club can’t sell any match tickets.
Season ticket holders can still attend games but no more match day tickets can need sold

A special licence could be granted to allow the club to be sold provided Abramovich doesn`t benefit from the sale.
Away fans won`t be able to buy tickets for games at SB of course which will be a bit of a pain for them.

Can`t renew player contracts or sell any merchandise either.
Abramovich must have known this was coming.
Serious sanctions for Chelsea but I minor inconvenience for Abramovich. I don`t think they will make any difference to what is going on in Ukraine.

Also restricted to £20k travel expenses. I’m not sure if that’s per trip or as a whole but travelling to one CL game must cost far more than this?

They`ll need to book a Rennies bus to Lille and sleep in a youth hostel.

40 easy jet return tickets at £250 each
20 hotel rooms at £120 a night x2 nights
Plenty of change for Herbalife and food.
No problem 😉

Sanctions which won`t worry Abramovic much, but will harm the average Chelsea fan. UK Government have done all their Russian pals a huge favour by announcing that some will be under sanctions, giving then plenty time to move their assets while they can

Who`d have thought the only two teams in the United Kingdom to face UK government and serious HMRC sanctions are the two most loyal to the Crown and British state.

His super yaught is now out of port, he could just get on it and sail back to somewhere in Russia. My bet would be to St Petersburg.

More likely Tel Aviv as that`s where he usually resides.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Where are the astronomical wages coming from?
Have they got that much cash sloshing about?

I think they`ve known this was coming since before RA handed over the running of the club to the trustees so if they didn`t already have cash to see themselves through to the end of the season, I`m assuming a transfer of cash was made pre sanctions to make sure they had enough.

The General Licence Chelsea have been given to operate expires at the end of May so will be interesting to see what happens then. Looks like it was designed to see out the season originally.

The respective scenarios are quite different.
If Chelsea didn’t have a Russian owner presumably it would be business as usual ?
HMRC are investigating several clubs for tax business.
