Yogis stubbornness is gonna cost us big time this season- we need to go for the win but his teams just look like ‘let’s go for a draw and if we can nick a win all the better’.

Thomas should be in for Dow, apparently he’s desperate to start and Dow has been only ok in recent games. If we are gonna persist on one up front we desperately need the creativity and goalscoring attributes that Thomas brings.

One up front and Dow starting instead of Thomas. Ground hog day yet again. At least Polworth is getting a start.

looks like its the same plan as the game against them at home which if it is, Thomas isnt the right pick for how it to work.

"Was crying out for 442 with Dom starting!!"

no for me, even if you did it would mean not playing Lawless unless he was one of the strikers.

I’m sure Thomas would start if fully match fit ? They won’t want him to break down again. He could be vital for the last half dozen games

I know I’m not the greatest with formations ~ even though I should be after aw this time ~ but why are we still playing one up front when we’re supposed to be fighting to get off the bottom? Don’t we have two strikers / promising goal scorers? Anywhere?

It sometimes feels ~ although it’s a mad thought on my part ~ that yogi is keeping us down.

Trying to lift my spirits, honestly.

One goal in this league often wins the game but in our experience usually ends in a draw. A second goal would be good. Oh dear but not for Hamilton.

Well we have 45 minutes to get the win !!
We scored a screamer of a goal worthy to win any game and as usual we hit the bar no luck going our way just now.
not sure if it is a howler for their goal / or player leading with elbow but it is history now we need to get out there and play like demons and score a goal or 2 in the process
The team know what they need to do, but it would help if if we passed the ball to our players and not to the Hamilton players we need to play it a little quicker also and stop the across and back the way nice to have possession but we are not hurting Hamilton on the half way line or deeper in our half
This is a big 45 minutes coming up and we are due a win !!

Get DT23 on, take a centre mid off and get todorov up beside Ohara. Draws will relegate us anyway so it doesn’t matter if we lose by, at least having a go is much more palatable than going down with a whimper. Give ourselves a chance in the last 8 possibly.

Agent Hughes however seems to have other ideas but is pleasing his Brockville paymasters.

What can one say , we go 2-1 up and it`s looking braw then we did our usual and started to sit too deep and invited them in !
As eastendalloapar said they had only 2 attempts on target and they land in the back of our net !! sums it up
in the end our defending was dire also just punting the ball anywhere which was usually to a Hamilton player , no composure at all
Another 2 valuable points dropped !! How different things could have been tonight if we hadn`t thrown 2 points away
Another Saturday night spoilt
Still think JH could have has subs on sooner
I agree with you Lorna we should be doing better than we are at the moment the players need to step up and so does the manager

Today sums it up and I believe relegates us. Absolute garbage. Can’t bring myself to say anything positive. Manager is awful and should never have been at EEP. Team are hopeless, don’t have anybody that can score goals up front. We can’t defend a lead or add to it. Badly managed club for several years now. Board and management have been terrible and the new owners need to step up cause they have added nothing so far. And for all those that don’t like this, I don’t care. I want the Pars to win every time, not just sometimes.

A real chance to cut the gap with most results going our way this weekend and jump in front of queens with a game in hand. When you go in front twice in the game you have to see it out, Hughes seems as odd with his subs as AJ was. Quickly running out of games to somehow finish 8th.

Really is depressing stuff. Can’t think of a lower point than this following the Pars. Even playing in League 1 before you could understand with the admin issues. Lost faith in Yogi 100%. Another one that talks a good game.

Just can’t see us being able to win another game. Couldn’t care less about the training ground either. You don’t need one playing in league 1. You can train down the local park.

The only good thing is the club and players should hopefully be gutted if we’re relegated.

We have only won 4 games all season, we are going to need to win at least another 4 to finish at least in a playoff position. We don`t commit enough bodies into the penalty area, at least go down fighting for a win and not hanging on for 30 minutes at the end. The 2nd Hamilton goal was criminal guy unmarked from a corner stood still not even jumping and nods it into the net

We need to change the coaching structure at the end of the season, Shields and Whittaker have been under 3 managers and we’ve been hopeless under the 3.

Even if Hughes stays, I would like to see a change in the other 2, something doesn’t seem right in the way we are teaching them

9th at best. Would take something special, possibly even more special than Leish in 2005, for us to finish 8th.

An utterly shambolic season with one of the biggest budgets in the league. Hopeless managers, hopeless players…no surprise to see us where we are.

The majority of the blame has to lie with the board for this season. Their decision making has been dreadful and the only positive coming from them has been the prospect of a new training facility/youth academy. A club our size should be nowhere near bottom of the championship. If we go down I can`t see us coming up next year. League One is much stronger than when we were last in it and we are far weaker than our team that won it

How the Hamilton 1st goal stood I’ll never know, absolutely disgraceful decision. Our game management is shocking too, subs were far too late today and everyone saw the equaliser coming except our management team. Starting to lose faith now, can’t see us getting any higher than 9th and I’d worry about us in the play offs. We played some good stuff in spells today but we don’t look like holding onto a lead at anytime

Is it because we are not used to winning a game of football that we do not have the right mindset ,game plan or the desire to see it out ? or are we just crap ?
JH certainly doesn`t seem to have any plans at all to change a game and to wait as long as he does to bring subs on is just short of being criminal !
No wonder folk aren`t happy with him
we surrendered our lead twice today and both goals were avoidable no need to name names folk will know who is at fault
Hope I am wrong but I cannot see us getting anything this Friday night against Morton at present they are a team that seem to be able to let teams have the ball soak up pressure and when they get a chance they know where the Goals are I know last week QOS gubbed them 3-0 so I live in hope like many other folk here But Just now I do not know when and where a win is coming from
Will be there of course cheering on the Pars
Gutted at throwing 2 points down the tubes today

Its happened at much bigger clubs than the Pars. When the guys running the club don`t make the men`s first team the absolute number 1 priority then it goes pear-shaped. Feels like off the field matters is all they are focusing on and leaving the team to look after themselves.

The thing is, I genuinely don`t think that`s the case. It`s the appointment of Grant that`s ruined us - which of course is the boards fault, but not due to the focus being elsewhere.

Grant was given free reign to sign about 9 players. How many of them are first choices now? No club at our level can afford to sign that level of dross and get away with it.

Isn’t it time we stopped blaming Grant, yes his time was a disaster, but, Hughes has had time to sort it out AND a window with funds to change the team and bring others in, which he has… however, his stubbornness is costing us, his team choices, his subs (or lack of) is costing us. Grant is gone, Hughes is a slight improvement but still not the manager we need to take us to the next level. Hopefully next time the board will not go for the cheap option but go for the right option

When you remember that Hamilton were sharing the top table with the “big boys” last season and are now scrapping with the relegation candidates this season, it only goes to show that nobody’s position is guaranteed and that anyone can sink in this league.

Grant did say the aim was to get the Pars out of this division. Not the way we planned it. Part time Arbroath only lost their 4th game all season today which we have only matched with wins. The table never lies unfortunately. 😭

I understand there were problems with the stream today. I wondered what the view was on the controversial incidents in the game - their first goal, Edwards` `dive` and our penalty (which Yogi thought was soft).

I thought there was contact between Boyo and Jakob, which is borne out by a picture on the BBC Sport website, but the keeper should have dealt better with the cross. I think most refs would have given a foul there. For a big guy, Jakub seemed uncomfortable when the ball was in the air today.

I thought our pen was a stonewaller and was too far away to see Edwards `dive` properly but didn`t think the ref was in a great position to judge.

My View Eck is similar to yours
Definitely was contact between Moyo and Jakub, and as you point out you can see it on the BBC Sport website, but our keeper should have dealt better with it no Iffs or butts about it ! I also recall Jakub in his first interview saying he welcomed and relished the physicality of our game , ( I think he bottled that one today) and we can have the excuse the sun was in his eyes as it was the same for Moyo, however in most instances most refs protect keepers and would normally have given a foul there so once again an element of bad fortune for us , I thought the penalty we did get was a penalty !
Surprised Edwards got booked for diving as I thought he was clipped and it was a penalty ! but when things are going against you the rub of the green just doesn`t seem to be there for you , 2nd goal was a free header I still can believe that Moyo wasn`t marked better
Friday night now is even a bigger game than today`s we need 3 points nothing less will be good enough
Also thought the Ref was biased today or is that me being paranoid LOL

Hamilton are the worst team we`ve played this season based on what I`ve seen. We couldn`t beat them today.

If we don`t finish 9th, in a play off spot, we deserve to go down.

Don`t rate our new goalie young guy can`t seem to handle the rough and tumble he was so looking forward to.Suspect for the first goal,we are fighting to stay in this devision don`t need novices between the sticks.Better to have stuck with Fons.
Hard road ahead for the Pars in the next few weeks.

Looking a wee bit like that season we went down pre Calderwood days. Draws are killing us (along with dog ***** recruitment from Peter Grant).

Tactically , Yogi is just as inept as Grant was , his constant one up front has been his undoing and his inability to bring on subs so they have time to make a difference is pathetic , 6 minutes to go today was a joke , the game was crying for fresh legs after the 2nd goal to try and close out the game but we were left scrambling for a draw.

The first goal wouldn’t have happened if Ambrose had decided to get involved in the game and help close the boy down along with McDonald. If that’s the best centre back yogi could find in January then we’re shot. Warning signs were there that he wasn’t interested in signing or playing for us.

The worst part of this is there are still some of our biggest earners contracted for next year and i doubt there’s relegation clauses to reduce their money.

For me the best scenario left to us is Queen’s Park in the playoff final. Anything else see’s us in the league 1 next season being fired to mid table by the likes of Allan, mccann and Todd.

Things will be looking up……..now yogi is gone!

Definitely was contact between Moyo and Jakub, and as you point out you can see it on the BBC Sport website, but our keeper should have dealt better with it no Iffs or butts about it ! I also recall Jakub in his first interview saying he welcomed and relished the physicality of our game , ( I think he bottled that one today)

Should have dealt with it better? He was in mid-air catching the ball and a 6ft man jumped straight into him. It’s a clear foul and there is nothing the keeper could have done. If he was collecting the ball with both feet on the ground, I’d agree with you, but he was in mid-air and gathering it comfortably until he was jumped into. You have no defence when you’re mid-air, I really don’t know what you’re expecting him to do there?

As for the comment about the ref being biased… ridiculous claim to make. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have had our penalty and he would be out of a job by now. Referees in this country are poor and have been for a long time. They’re not biased or cheating, they’re just not good at their jobs - a bit like our management team and a lot of our players.

Just watched the goals. 2 defenders on the guy letting him cross the ball in is criminal. Ambrose`s part in it is consistent with the little I`ve seen of him so far. Just not at it.
There`s a challenge on the goalie but it looked to me as if contact came after he failed to get the ball.
Their second goal was similar in that there were bodies there that should have dealt with it but didn`t.
And we needed a defender to score from outfield play.
Doesn`t look good.

par-91
if you are going to dissect what other posters write and criticize because you do not agree with what is written get your facts right !!
If you check my comment about the ref it was a joke and if you look carefully you will see i put LOL that was the clue although, I do think he was very incompetent yesterday is he a relative of yours that you are defending him ?
Also if you read my comments I say normally any contact with a keeper and it is a foul ! but I will say he could have done better at it could have done what he usually does and punch it clear , for a tall man he does not seem to command his box at times to take the pressure off the defense but that is probably down to inexperience on his part ! different ball game playing against men ! in this league you are not afforded the time to catch things comfortably , Unless you are a pars player as another thread says we are too soft !! we can debate these points till doomsday but I have my opinion and you have yours so best leave it at that as at the end of the day it won`t change the result
on to Friday night now and that is a must win game ( maybe you will agree with me on that one)
I do agree with you regarding management team and some of our players !!

Hamilton`s first goal should never have stood, but neither should their goal in the previous game either.

We just have to hope we start getting a few of these decisions.

For what it`s worth, I think we`d be right to stick with Hughes. Every time someone suggests someone it`s always the usual names who are either too expensive, already managing or managing part-time but has a good job at the bank (😉).
