He won`t change the 1 upfront because we have attacking midfielders he would rather play.

Anyway, how quickly do you think 2 strikers are gonna click, having just played with 1 for months.

Morton are making playing football look a lot simpler than we are. They keep hitting long passes to Ugwu to hold up or Reilly to chase down. Morton are just sitting in and we`re having to pass it around 8 men. Need to be quicker getting it forward and O`Hara needs to do more.

We are getting into top third of pitch in between their back four and midfield then over cooking it with so many tippy tappy passes. Need a bit more urgency and more direct.

Not enough urgency going forward. Most of the time there is only one guy looking for a pass and the rest are holding back. We could win this by 2 or 3 goals with a bit of effort.

Can`t believe Fon was dropped for this guy. He had his weaknesses but I haven`t seen this keeper make a save yet. Reminds me of Barkas. At fault for a goal last week and this weeks goal was beyond embarrassment.

Yogis tactics are shocking. Same rubbish every week and never changes it. We desperately need two men up front and he doesn`t have the bottle to do it. We are seriously in a bad way. We`ve looked no where near scoring a goal.

Wilson honestly runs at about 1 mph for 20 yards and chalmers starts running towards him then just stops while the two CBs back off. Then the shot is even slower than his run but manages to find the net. Scunnered doesn’t cover it. Get this season tae

Unbelievable. We’ve been on top for most of the half. Good interchanges, clever runs, strong tackling …… but, nobody able / willing to have a decent shot on goal. Apart from Morton, of course, if you can call that a shot. More like a scuff. What in heaven’s name was Ambrose up to, just tracking Wilson back. And then our goalie’s pathetic attempt at stopping a bobbling ball. When you’re down on your luck nothing seems to go for you. JH must be tearing his hair out, what little he has.

Need Chalmers off, he kills off any momentum we have going forward. Put McCann/Todorov on next to O`Hara and go after the game. Hughes has to be more proactive now and learn his lessons from not using subs early enough in recent games

2 or 3 men in wide areas constantly but they`re offering nothing as they faced up by Morton players and have nothing to aim for in the middle even if they could get a ball in. Shape is just all wrong .

Need to do something different, maybe McCann on to try to occupy the Morton defenders and pull them around a bit to make space.

That`s a poor keeper. Big mistake giving him the gloves when OFW was starting to give us a solid foundation. Next two games we are going to have to play with Mehmet! So it`s gonna get worse. Also could blame the groundsman, that turf gave way as he was moving

How did we end up with so many duds. Don’t care, the basic tenets of football are not there. Far too slow. Final pass is terrible. Decision making is just shocking. So depressed, thought we could do something here .No subs, Hughes could just pick the team and then go home along with the subs.

Definitely offside for the O`Hara disallowed goal. Disappointing draw as Morton really did nothing tonight but defended extremely well. Hughes needed to make the McCann sub much earlier. 2 up front from now on please

3x as many shots as Morton and just the one goal. We should have won that. Not sure O`Hara`s goal was offside and no way Wilson should have scored that goal.

Draws are no good to us really.

They put a lot of effort in and they managed to not lose but there isn`t enough organisationally to suggest we`ll escape IMO.

Fed up with these draws. We should’ve had that today as they offered absolutely nothing. Two up front should’ve been the move far earlier in the 2nd half as it was obvious they were just looking to defend the 1-0 lead.

Can`t fault them for effort and if this is an early season match or mid table scrap then fine, take the point and walk away but it`s absolutely unfathomable that we didn`t roll the dice earlier in the match when staring relegation in the face.

Hopefully lesson learned and press more on Tuesday night.

Just not good enough yet again. Stupid mistakes are costing us and unfortunately we are making them every single game. Efe at the back looks an absolute bomb-scare and gives the ball away far to often trying to be too smart. Our new keeper has not impressed at all since he arrived also. I don`t understand Yogi`s mind setting. Fon Williams had not really done much wrong and was dropped immediately when Jakub arrived. I was really excited about how much of a prospect he could be but that`s two big mistakes that have cost us now.

I`ve lost a lot of faith in Yogi. He`s trying to play fast passing football with a team not suited for it. The fact that he took far too long to make a sub seriously makes me question his ability. If McCann came on 15-20 mins earlier who knows what could have happened? I really thought Yogi would had us shooting up the table when he arrived but we have only very slightly improved. Two up front is an absolute must next week.

Coll Donaldson was man of the match for me. He was superb. The team are trying and that`s the worrying thing. It`s still nowhere good enough.

Aye Ross, I can`t disagree too much (although I didn`t think Hughes would be a good fit for us when he joined). There are two main ways of defending - by being well organised (and that can include the forwards pressing, not just the centre halves being good positionally and midfielders dropping in to cover full back runs) or by throwing everything at the ball as Morton did tonight. We do neither - there is no real press, the midfield is far too open, the centre backs are all over the place (although I think Donaldson has been a decent signing) and we don`t do the dirty stuff and throw bodies on the line.

In midfield we have Pybus trying to do everything then the rest of the options in there almost get in each others way (it was really noticeable tonight how often Polworth, Thomas and Lawless were passing to each other only a yard or two apart) and the tracking back is often missing.

In the final third we either try a world cup pass or shot when a simple pass is on or go out of the danger area when there are chances to open teams up. And until the last 20 minutes tonight, everything we do in the final third is at snails pace. Surely Hughes will have seen that we had more joy once we got the ball moving into wide areas a bit quicker and got the defensers turning the wrong way? But I can`t see him charging his style.

Agree with a lot of what you say RossF. I`d have gone further and had McCann on at HT. At a conservative estimate I`d say that the opposition gained possession of the ball 70% of the time after Ambrose played it. Just not good enough. Nae wonder Donaldson was left shaking his head at times.

They played well. I find it difficult to criticise them after that effort. Crowd were fantastic.
If we keep playing like the second half we will not go down.
2 up front from now on though, and take the shot. Only failing is lack of confidence to pull the trigger.

Since Yogi arrived I’ve supported his ways and decisions. Tonight I even argued his case with some supporters but after watching the game it was crying out for subs. We needed to go 2 up too but once again he chose not too. I have again backed Lewis McCann when fans were screaming for him to be taken off. Tonight’s match was crying out for Lewis. Maybe, just maybe on Tuesday night he needs to go with Lewis and Kev up top

We should have won that match. Comfortably the better side but a shocking goal to lose.
I don’t think we create enough chances with the possession we have but both McCann and O’Hara spend most of their time outside the box. Oh, for a lazy, fat poacher.
The players were gutted at not winning and not getting the points their overall play deserved over the last weeks.
McCann has possibly dislocated his shoulder and will be going for a scan tomorrow

I would argue tonights effort was.
I agree he needs to go two up front and go for it though.
I think he believes there is firepower in the midfield but he has to see now that that isnt working. We have the ability, we need to have the confidence to play with two strikers.

Not read any other comments so not sure if this has been mentioned. That ref was a disgrace tonight. I cannot get over the decision not to award Thomas a FK when he went past the boy near the end.

Loads of possession but very little in goal scoring threat. I could see how suited McCann was for tonight`s game after 20 mins but it took Yogi around 80 odd minutes. Other than a couple minutes at the start of the game Morton rarely threatened. I`m still trying to figure out how Wilson scored. Seemed to be in slow motion. Not impressed with the keeper at all tongiht. Genuienly no idea how that **** beat him. There was also a free kick in the box that looked like a comfortable catch with no pressure on him but he ended up waiting to the last minute to dash across goal to watch it go narrowly wide.

Was really impressed with our Midfield tonight strongest I`ve seen it all season. Hopefully McCann is fine to play Tuesday and start him with O hara. Chalmers impressed me tonight as well. I seen tonight as a must win and I thought we snatched it at the death. Blame has to lie with yogi for making the changes late on. We score 5 minutes earlier and we win that game.

I really don`t know what to think about how this season will end up but I do think if we manage to survive, next season should be completely different.

I would like to see Wilson`s goal again as not sure if keeper slipped, but if he didn`t he was slow to get down. Not his best game tonight but has done OK for us in other games and he is still young. For me Ambrose back-pedalled and didn`t do enough to close Wilson down before he shot. Same problems as other games for me with need to be a bit more direct (and we were better than we have been at times) and play with higher tempo so to try to create more chances before their defence is fully set. We still need to take more shots when chances are on rather than look to pass the ball into the net (and we did more of that in the second half). First half we also needed to have more players attacking the crosses in the box. However some great passing last night and a wonderful spirited effort from the players to break down a defensive Morton team. Their keeper did well. Great to see the commitment and never-say-die attitude from the Pars to try to get the equaliser. Once again we had no luck with O`Hara hitting the post (again!) and the offside decision ruling out his goal which must have been close. I look forward to looking at that again. A great contest by two teams giving their all. If that had been the first game of the season most fans would have been pretty happy with our performance. Well done to Lewis McCann for his well taken goal. The crowd was great too. Players must be gutted to have battered Morton so much and only come away with a point.

Found myself agreeing with a lot of what Michael Stewart said on the Beeb commentary last night. We must attack with more pace and absolutely cut out that “extra pass” which gives the defence more time to regroup. We need to put more pressure on the goalkeeper - more shots on target. And there’s no good battering shots against defenders from the edge of the box: we need to get to the bye line and get good balls across. All sounds so obvious and easy, doesn’t it? 😂
Thought McCann was incredibly brave for his goal. Saw he was feeling his chest / shoulder as he trudged off. Hope he’s OK for Wednesday.

I watched the quite a bit of the game this morning after ParkRun as it was being re-shown on one of our ESPN channels. Keeper did seem to slip in that muddy patch, but he was a bit far over to begin with which made his job harder.
