What is Hughes thinking?? Letting Alexander go play a friendly and putting a 16 yr old on the bench in his place??

What happens if Mehmet gets injured?? It’s a massive risk to take!!

If that’s true Alexander should be released forthwith, so much for it being a team effort and all in it together. Hughes seriously at fault for accepting this, total lack of responsible management.

It’s absolutely true, however, it’s down to Hughes to say “we pay your wages you ain’t going”

Defo a gamble throwing a 16/17 year old on the bench. But Alexander would of had this in place before he joined us. Hopefully the lad won’t be called upon and it’s experience for him

The only way that is remotely acceptable is if he has a contract to play that game before he signed for us.

I`m reminded of Socks`s recent comment about our "passy-passy, pihs-pihs" style of play. That seems to be what we`ve brought to the party today, whereas ICT are having much more success with route one.

Some fresh faces and legs in our starting line up would have helped today also
you can see why they didn`t let him play for ST Johnstone

Not at the game but that`s disappointing to hear, fans have travelled a fair distance to get up there and pay the money, it`s the easiest thing to do as a team to keep the unity with the fans. Get this season in the bin already (hopefully with us retaining our championship status...)

Hi Raymie
It was one of those one`s where you were thinking something and typed by accident !once it`s in cyberspace it`s too late to retract LOL And I do appreciate we won against partick 4-1 and was unlucky not to get the 3 points against Morton the players in these 2 games gave their all and much more so I was thinking 1 or 2 changes for 60 minutes would have freshened things up and whoever came in would play oot their skin and chase down everything and tire the ICT players out (good plan but didn`t happen) , and I do understand the rational behind playing the same 11 players it would have been hard to drop anyone but nowadays it is a squad thing so as long as it is for the right reasons I don`t think people can moan too much about what team is on the park ( but yes they do)
Then I thought we could have put our winning formula on !
like anything in this world Raymie very easy to say but much harder to do in real life which showed today ,
I thought we looked a wee bit jaded today not a team that looked as though they had turned the corner , we gave the ball away far too cheaply today and only IMO we gave ICT the 3 points with cheap Goals which has been the story of our season
Ok they shut down Dom but what about our other players stepping up ?
Hope you understand my thoughts Raymie , everything I said was only for the right reasons
Cmon Ye Pars
I will finish by saying I am very disappointed in the result today but we cannot give teams cheap goals and try and play catch up every game

I wasn’t really having a go at you, Wullie.
It shows you hard managing can be. As you say, two good performances and the boys would have been bursting to go again. Training would have been upbeat, so the manager is thinking that he needs to give the boys the chance ti go again.

Today just shows why we are where we are. We can’t seem to put a run together

Well beaten today, with passy passy pihs pihs to the fore once again. Maybe the difference between today and Tuesday was that Inverness just had better, more physical defenders, meaning that awkward ball for O`Hara to put pressure on just wasn`t such an effective option.

I said after Tuesday that we overplayed, so what I`m going to say is not just in reaction to a loss. The way we play in our own half is utterly insane. It really is nonsensical and it`s entirely down to the manager. Sometimes it`s OK and there were times when it was on and we did play out quite well, but the problem is that we try to do it almost every time, even when it`s obviously the wrong option. And because everything has to be so passy, we didn`t even leave ourselves with a wide option to hit up the line when under a bit of pressure. Towards the end of the first half we had a shy level with our 18-yard line, that we took into the middle of the pitch and put ourselves right into bother. We gave away a free kick from it, which I think was the one they hit the post from. Another time we played a pass to a man a yard from the touchline with 3 opponents within 5 yards. What was he ever going to be able to do in that situation? If you didn`t see it, you won`t be surprised to hear that we lost the ball from it.

Up until it went 1-0, this just kept happening. We just couldn`t get the ball in good areas and the three attacking players in midfield would have been as well not being there. And defensively none of them contribute enough, and they need to do more when we`re struggling. Thomas in particular was poor defensively, and I said that on Tuesday too.

Our best spell was at 1-0 and Todorov could well have equalised with his first touch. We had some real pressure on, but being pushed so far up we were always vulnerable, and so it proved. After the second lot of subs at 2-0 we were all over the place without any real shape, and they saw out the game quite easily.

Totally agree with you Raymie ! I can see what JH was thinking and being a Manager your great if you get it right and damned by everyone if you don`t
And I realised you were only pointing out how tough it is being a manager
For me my view is very similar to the post from Socks far to much of a game played in our own half with tippy tappy passes to one another where we are hurting nobody but ourselves because eventually we give the ball to the opposition
Good honest and sensible post Socks

If Todorov puts that chance away it`s a different game. He`s been out of the team so long I`d forgotten how easily he`s knocked off the ball.

We do overplay at times but if we hit and hope we`re accused of playing `hoofball`. There were a couple of times in the first half where we caught their defence out with beautifully-weighted long balls from left to right but we didn`t persevere with that.

Even against Partick we didnt dominate them ,yes we won 4-1 but if you looked at possession stats they were about 55/45 in Partick’s favour.
Really no surprise that we cant inflict damage on ICT with so little possession .

Awful take.

Possession isn`t a very good metric for determining how a match was going. It`s what you do with the possession that`s far more important.

Agree with grant, we gave up a lot of possession in the 2nd half on Tuesday but we’re happy to as we were 3-1 and looking to hit on the break.

As good as we played on Tuesday I think Partick were wide open and you could see why they had been conceding goals for fun, today we played a bigger more physical team and we reverted back to type.

Raith game is a must win and I fancy they will be a far tougher but to crack than Partick were.

Disappointing today, we got what we deserved. We were back to a more ponderous approach, although Inverness pressed us effectively and were sharp when then they had the ball. Having dropped a few points in games we deserved to win, I thought we might be on the other side today and sneak a fortunate point or three, wasn`t to be. We only played for about 15 minutes after they opened the scoring, if one of those chances goes in, then maybe we get something.

Lawless, Polworth and Thomas were all powderpuff and ineffective, being starved off decent possession and often only getting it in tight situations in our half with their back to goal. Not many positive really, although Dow was good when we he came on, Kamwa showed flashes, Todorov is good at attacking crosses (but he needs to also finish them and he should hold up the ball better for a guy of his size). We missed McCann`s physicality up top today, O`Hara was willing as ever but even when he does get into some space, he doesn`t have the technique to dribble past players or make space to avoid his shots getting blocked.

No point on dwelling on that too much, Inverness played well, we didn`t we, we lost. Raith game should be great, should be a full blooded derby with both teams going for a win under the lights.

Indeed, Partick had more possession in the second half but we had allot more chances.

We had allot more possession in the Morton game but created less than in the Partick game...

It`s just not a terribly good metric to look at in isolation.
