Yes indeed well done Kelty, polar opposite to what The Pars have churned out this season & a good number of seasons before that.

On the upside, it’ll be an even shorter trip for the local derby game & a first for many to visit their home (that’s the ground, no Kelty.

Well done Kelty.

A club with ambition unlike some others in the SPFL (Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers Berwick etc…) that have been taking money just to survive)

I heard / read that the Kelty board have stated that getting into League 1 was their target and surviving in it is the height of the ambition. They do not want to be a boom and burst club (like Gretna). Although if they do well next season, it will be interesting. Obviously there will be quite a few full time teams in League 1 next season.

I read that their average attendance is 380. That’s not a lot of revenue coming in each home game

My older friend used to play for Kelty when they were an amateur side in the late 70’s, so I went along to all their games, home and away, for about two years, so I do take an interest.
I don’t think they have a sustainable model though. The manager and players like Cardle and Higgy will be on decent money for that league

I`m not sure those figures are accurate. Average attendance for the 19/20 Season was 548. As far as I`ve seen this year, the lowest attendance has been 433 v Elgin City and highest 1,202 v Cowdenbeath. I can be bothered to work out the average tonight, but probably about 675 or thereabouts. I would think they will be spending within their means, they have managed to attract some good part time players and are able to get them sorted with decent jobs from friendly employers to help them along.
They have had a tremendous run of promotions, just what Scottish football needs, shows the quality that lies below the SPFL in the Pyramid.
Not sure where the haters are coming from, if you get yourself along to a match there, you will find a cracking wee ground, well kept facilities, friendly people, a cracking wee bar and attractive football on show. Not sure how I will feel about them when they are gubbing The Pars on a regular basis next season though....

Don`t get the love-in with Kelty but also don`t get the hate. Kelty often feels like an extension of Dunfermline despite being closer to Cowdenbeath.

I still think we missed a trick with Cardle. I see him doing 1-1 coaching at Duloch and he seems to be doing a great job.

Is it too much to realise that perhaps some folk on here have ties / family links to Kelty given they’re just up the road? I certainly do, and nice to see others have as well 😊.

Kelty used to be a Pars strong hold for some reason but well done to Joe Cardle and co

Don`t think any home league match has saw an attendance of 380. On what was one of coldest nights of 2022 over 1100 v Cowdenbeath for a midweek match.
Kelty Average attendance is probably double all other teams in league 2.
Club will be fully sustainable in league one.
Further investment in stadium over the summer including community cafe.
Kelty started season with guaranteed prize money of around at least 50k will be more now.
Good Scottish cup run helps with income.
It`s all about good player recruitment and they`ve done well with little to no errors in that department for league two, Connor Barron being just one example spent first part of season at Kelty now first team Aberdeen winning MOMs in top league.
If it was as simple as money that won titles and positions in a league how does Pars current position add up being the number two budget in league.

All in all a very well run community club, aiming to be be best part time team in Scotland.

I agree that money alone isn`t going to necessarily win titles, dafc, but I`m intrigued as to how you know that the Pars have the 2nd highest budget in the Championship, or perhaps you`re just guessing?

Bear in mind we have no credit facilities, whereas other clubs will be able to borrow money, so they may well be able to put together bigger budgets. Not that this justifies what has been a disastrous season for us.

All fun and games smashing teams for fun with guys who could still be playing at a much higher level.

Gets harder as you go up the leagues and the novelty wears off and then the money dries up.

Seen it with Gretna, Livingston, Boston United, Crawley Town and others i can`t remember off the top of my head.

Is it sustainable? Likewise same for Cove?

^^^ Same as Celtic and The Rangers in the Premiership.

Kelty had to start somewhere in their inaugural year at the very bottom of the pyramid system.

The new pyramid system seems to be working well and has shaken up the lower leagues.

I`m intrigued as to how so many folk seem to know not only what the Pars budget was for this season, but also how it ranks in relation to other clubs.

Either these posters are on the BoD, are good friends with a Director, or are just speculating. Take your pick.

What I meant by my comment is that we turned a profit and are sticking within our budget (spending less than we have coming in). We could have spent more but whether it would have made any difference is anyone`s guess. Easy to make judgements in hindsight.
