CROWD DISPLAY V QOTS - Ross McArthur tribute
Topic Originator: PARSJAY-C
Date:   Mon 11 Apr 21:53

DAFC Crowd Display Team have planned A display v QOTS that will be dedicated to the hard work and commitment from Ross McArthur.

Ross has played a huge role in the building of DAFC and we are forever grateful of the many years he has dedicated to our fantastic club.
A proper fan who originally sat in the cage supported everything @DAFC crowd displays and Section - NORTH WEST set out to achieve.

It would be great to give him a proper thank you but we require as many donations as possible.

It is so hard to think of anything that would do justice for everything Ross has done for this club.

So far I all I can come up with is;

"Ross, thank you from the bottom of my heart."

It`s a nice touch, and he does deserve it. Let`s hope it doesn`t lead to him putting another strongly worded statement on COWS condemning the behaviour of the fans in the North West for not sitting down and being quiet while they do this

There’s always one.

As much as I agree about how much he has done....

We have gone backwards under him as Chairman which stands us in real potential of being relegated to L1.

And this was the same group that have forced him out....

I`d rather it was again like Morton.

You will of course have proof to back that up won’t you or is that just another look at me post? I can assure you that most if not all of that group were actually outraged by the treatment of Ross yes they have been vocal in their discontent at some of the things Ross and the board have done never have any of them thought it would be cool to damage the man’s car and spit on him out in public but you will know better of course

Come on ye pars ⚽️

So your pretty sure that the culprits for the alleged shocking behaviour against RM were part of the north west section are you ? Or are you just adding 2+2 and making 5 ?

It time for everyone to grow up, if you are unhappy about the recognition Ross is about to receive from the vast majority of pars fans then the best thing to do is don’t take part and perhaps maintain a dignified silence

Well that`s an oxymoron if I`ve ever witnessed one BOTN. The abhorrent songs and slurs from some in the NW section when tensions were at their highest were nothing short of disgusting. i called out many of them at the time.

I sit in the NW stand myself and love nothing more than cheering on the team...

just doesn`t sit right with me a display for Ross.

Great guy, but the legacy he COULD leave would sent us into the dark ages.

Too many cry babies on here.

Ross leaves a solvent club - with new owners who appear to have a bit of cash, want to build DAFC back up, and do it the right way.

That will be his legacy, regardless of what league we are in.

As I said. Ross is a great guy BUT it could still ultimately go horribly wrong! Then we are left scrambling like Grangemouth. Languishing in near administration. I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him in the NW next season!

Fans are a fickle bunch and long May it continue HH.

Posts like some of the above remind me of something my dad used to say when I was boy

"If you can`t say something nice then just shut the fk up......"

I’ve been critical of some of Ross’ decisions, but you’d have to be blind to not acknowledge that the club would be in a much worse state right now if it wasn’t for him. He’s also done much better than most people (including me) could do with that kind of responsibility/pressure. He hasn’t got everything right, we’re all aware of that. However, he’s worked tirelessly to do what he always felt was best for the club. I also believe that we wouldn’t be where we are in terms of the new investors and training ground/academy if it wasn’t for all of Ross’ hard work and passion for the club.

He absolutely deserves this display of appreciation and we should absolutely do it that day, rather than risk(?) avoiding the playoffs and missing out on the opportunity to do this.

So you didn`t detect any sarcasm in my post? None whatsoever?

Awesome.

Looking forward to this display immensely FWIW. There most probably wouldn`t be a DAFC if it wasn`t for Ross. Fully deserving of this recognition.

Understand concerns that this celebration could coincide with relegation but, relegated or not, it`s still the last (known) game with Ross McArthur at the helm.

Ross deserves a thank you and it`s up to people if they want to get involved or not.

Yes,agree. His efforts have been outstanding. Whether he has got it right or not, does not bother me one jot.He had the club at heart, that is OK by me.He made honest ,from the heart decisions, how many of us would put ourselves in that position, with the pressure that involves.

Is there not already a tribute to the Chairman in the NW every game with the empty seats under the TV gantry.

No, the tribute, in that instance, is that there`s actually a game taking place.

It could be argued that is a tribute to fans refusing to follow rules.
As you mentioned it though, maybe its time to reopen it. That is where the most vocal fans should be, rather than stuck in a corner.

I think one of the reasons it was closed was that fans in that area commonly stood for long spells in the match. The enthusiasm and support was great, but it meant that those further along the stand also had to stand to see the pitch at the far end.

Laughed out loud at this. I remember at the time thinking it was a poor decision. A huge stadium and we’re discouraging fans from attending by shutting down sections. The decision was up there with hiring Peter Grant for me. Utter madness! The North West fans have been a great backing for the team. Great atmosphere and long may it continue. These young guys are the future of the club.

Partly.

Think it’s been a huge success to be fair, the lads in NW get to stand and run about and go mad without disruption of the view for everyone else. And they are growing.
