Why we still sitting in play off spot? Goal difference & goals scored are exactly the same so shouldn`t we be above them on head to head?

LiveScore and Google showing us above ayr. I’m guessing it’s bbc that have us 9th and the answer is that it’s the bbc……..

I suspect some of the providers haven`t realised the rule and are just doing it on alphabetical order.

Was confirmed on the radio it is done on alphabetical order the now until the end of the season then we would officially be above ayr. Seems daft but that’s what was said on bbc Scotland

yeah .... according to rule C35 of "The Rules of the Scottish Professional Football League" if points and goal difference are equal, then the team that has scored the most goals will be placed higher .... if the goals scored are the same (which they are) then the team placed higher will be the one with the most points in matches between the relevant clubs.
So, against Ayr, played-4, won-2, drawn-1, lost-1 .... we should now be 8th.
But, it ain`t over until the fat lady sings .....
“Football is a beautiful game,
It should be played beautifully.”
Brian Clough.

From the clueless BBC Site
Dunfermline moved nine points clear of bottom-of-the-table Queen of the South, who have three games left, and level on points with Ayr in eighth place.
Both those sides have two games remaining and have identical records. Should that remain the case, the two would play-off to see which would avoid the play-off.

I don`t think a play off to avoid the play offs could be fitted in without the two clubs playing on consecutive days, which is just crazy.
H2H results sounds good to me. 🙂

It’s head to head results if DAFC and Ayr finish with identical points etc.
Pars have better stats.

Richard Gordon confirmed on Radio Scotland it was H2H if records were identical. He then went on to say the H2H records were close! Aye, Richard, we`ve won 2. drawn 1 and lost 1 and the goal difference is 7-5!

Morton aren’t out of it either, they have Inverness at home and Arbroath away. 5 points ahead of us and Ayr. 1 point should see them safe but they could easily lose both games as long as we win our two remaining games.

If we and Ayr finish on equal points then obviously it’s going to be decided on who scores more goals relatively in the final two fixtures…..unless the head to head still remains the situation.
Cue QotS’s attitude to finishing the season, assuming they are already relegated by then.
