Booked for celebrating the second goal. He must be near a ban for the number of bookings he has had?

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

9 in the league and 1 in the Cup apparently.

Tried to look at the rules.....is it a suspension after 6?

Suspension after 6 if you pick them all up in the first half of the season. Becomes 12 after that but ends up being to 2 matches.

He’ll avoid suspension if we avoid the play-offs. If we end up in the play-offs and he picks up 3 more then he potentially missing for a couple of massive games. He’d be a big miss as well with the amount of ground he covers

They now look at the number of matches in which the cautions have been issued I think. If 6 cautions were given in 18 games in the same competition a one-match ban is served. If 12 were given in 36 games then a two-match ban is served etc.

Presumably Pybus`s first 6 cautions weren`t incurred in 18 or fewer games as he hasn`t been suspended yet. Suspensions start 14 days after the last qualifying caution was issued. With only two league games to go he should be OK provided he avoids a red but I`m not sure how cautions incurred in the play-offs would work.

The punishments seem very lenient to me and not much of a deterrent to foul play. On the other hand refs seem to issue yellow cards for next-to-nothing nowadays.

Ah yes i forgot the + 14 days part for suspensions for yellow cards. Cards in play-off count like they were in the league.

That means worse case,

Booked in both league games, booked in first leg of play-offs on 3rd/4th of may, suspension kicks in on 17th/18th May.

Final 2nd leg is 15th May.

That means he would serve his suspension next season and is available for the play-off final, that’s a relief.

"Booked for celebrating the second goal."

As seen in the highlights - stupid booking.

What a joy you really are! Obviously not got a clue about how football works.

At various points this season the squad have been accused of having no passion, no commitment, no heart etc. The reaction to the goals and wins in the last few home games would suggest otherwise.

Of course you expect them to politely trot back to the half way line after scoring the winner in our latest must-win home game.

I know how the Laws of the Game work and how referees are under instructions to caution players in these circumstances.

Maybe they haven’t a clue either ?

Knowing the laws of the game is one thing. Knowing how football works and how football players think especially in certain circumstances is completely different.

But you knew that.....?

"But you knew that.....?"

Having passed the SFA Referee Entrance Exam...........I`ll tick the yes box.

It was a no brainer yellow card for the referee.

Who, incidentally, called the penalty correctly as well,

We`ve had players who have been better at various stages but across the whole season, yes I`d agree. Very consistent.

Isn`t he the only player, apart from Josh Edwards, who has appeared consistently under both managers this season? I think Edwards has regressed a bit though.

Pybus has to be our player of the season.

Either that or Connolly and Donalsdon share it.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

What players think is irrelevant - and what you and/or I think likewise.

Simple question - do you think the caution was justified or not ? That is the point.

If the latter, what is the defence case ?

The only problem I have is you`re calling it a "stupid booking". You dismiss any thought of emotion, passion etc

Then you tell us you took the refs exam.

Suddenly it all becomes clear

Avoidable and self inflicted = stupid in my opinion.

These have a habit of coming back with suspensions as the season progresses - fortunately that appears not to be applicable this season.

For what it`s worth, I thought Aaron Muirhead was lucky not to be yellow carded for his gestures to the home support on scoring - sailing close to the wind there.

With obvious repecussions (presumably) if he had been cautioned then.
