Partick v Pars
QoS v Ayr
With Ayr and Pars on equal points and QoS 6pts adrift at the bottom what would be .nets desired result in the QoS v Ayr game?
With the hope that we can take a point or three against Partick which is a BIG ask considering our away form and the likelihood being ZERO points.
How would we like results to go elsewhere?
QoS loss or draw would see them automatically be relegated whilst pushing Ayr into a better position to challenge 8th place.
Personally I am hoping for QoS to win and hope we can best them at EEP on the last day to secure safety in 8th place.

Walking a tightrope without a safety net comes to mind. I prefer a draw which not only avoids automatic relegation but keeps 8/9th alive to the final game. I can see the argument for wanting a Queens win but i think that is just too risky.
For what its worth I dont think Ayr will lose today. They played us off the park for 75 minutes. They looked a decent side. Interestingly there is no love lost between AyrQoS it is almost a local rivalry. And the Ayr fans cant stand Willie Gibson - it will be a right battle.

Ayr have only won once in their last eight games.
They lost at home to QoS in the last encounter.
This is a tight finish to the season

if qo s dont win there down if we get a point there down so we really would love pars win and draw at palmerston were ayr havent won for about 20 years and then last game v q o s has great memories for me they were team in april 1987 that stevie morrison scored winner against to win us promotion for first time to premier league

I suppose the key thing is we win today. We`re only in control of our own results.
If Ayr and QOTS draw then that`s them relegated.
If Ayr win and we lose then it`s pretty much over in terms of avoiding a play off.
If QOTS win and we lose then it`s all open for the final game. If QOTS win that then we`re potentially relegated depending on the Ayr result.
If we draw with QOTS then they`re relegated and we`re in a play off unless Ayr lose.

On the basis of our last two meetings with Partick they are now as poor a side as there is in this league and it`s hard to believe that they are virtually assured of a play off place. I certainly now anticipate Ayr to get 3 points next week and us to be in the play offs. Any other outcome will be a miracle.

If they lose heavily and the Rovers win they would miss out on a play-off spot.

^^^ only 3 points separate
them but with an 8 goal difference.
Rovers would need to score at least 4 goals and hope that Ayr beat Partick by the same 4 goals to make any difference in the league positions.

I didn’t notice that if it came down to an equal goal difference it will go to goals scored which means a draw may not be enough for us even if Ayr lose as 3-2 Partick and a 0-0 draw with us would see them finish above us I’m sure. I believe that we will be sitting next Friday trying to work out if the draw we are watching is enough :-).

Ayr win = cant be caught
Ayr draw = any win is good enough
Ayr lose by 1 goal = a draw is good enough IF we score 1 more goal than they do ie 0-1 = 1-1, 1-2 = 2-2, 2-3 = 3-3
Ayr lose by 2 goals = any draw is good enough
