I like the lineup, the players are capable, can only hope they`ve been adequately coached in how to play there roles.

Good to see Comrie back but the rest of that defence gives me the fear. Hopefully up top can do some damage though. I think Cole deserved a start over Chalmers.

Plenty pace at the back to cover Ambrose and pace and power up top. Good team for cr@p pitch.

Big call to move from our usual recent formation, although those 3 CBs give me flashbacks to Grant’s lineups (although no Donaldson or Martin suggests these were our only 3?)😬 if we’re organised it could be a good shout with two big lads up top going more direct on the tattie field. Everything crossed it works out.

Well a starting 11 is one thing but it is how there are set up and how they have been instructed to play that will count.

Yogi will earn his corn or not with that line up.

I really hope we get the result….obviously ….and at this stage of the season I don’t care how we get it…

Cole for Chalmers for me but hey ho it is what it is…..

I`d imagine Partick would`ve been training with the assumption we would stick with what we`ve been doing, so it`ll mean they might have to re-think. Can only hope it works. Away from home nothing else has worked so might as well give it a go

Ok I am going to jump in early.

This is not going to end well.

The line up is not good to put it mildly.

As you know I am not convinced about our managers tactical prowess.

I sincerely hope I am wrong and will take any result today.

But I can’t see it….sorry.

The buck stops with JH.

To have three centre backs, plus McCann and Todorov, to concede a corner to 5`8 Ross Docherty is a shambles. Someone wasn`t doing there job there, awful.

It`s all fine playing it long and hoping to win flick ons and knock downs but when the midfield don`t seem to think about moving up to get into a position to pick up second balls there`s no point doing that.

Having said that, no idea how we`ve not scored there.

Was a good recovery challenge from the Thistle defender, don`t think McCann can be blamed for missing it at all.

Our only real chance coming from a big mix up in the Thistle defence, unless they gift us another I don`t see us scoring from open play, with our team you`d hope we might have a chance from set plays but our delivery has been very poor from those.

.

The crux of the matter, McCann and Todorov have won plenty in the air but we`ve not picked up a single second ball, Thistle are sitting deeper which might help, at the moment though there`s no joined up thinking in how we`re playing.

Basically the same as last week ! we are crap just now and far too many hoof balls , McCann and Todorov have won their share but because the midfield is too far back we are not getting any second balls
Thought McCann should have just hit the ball first time instead of taking a touch but saying that credit to the defender !
Not happy at losing the goal from a corner ! where was the marking ?
Hope we can get back into this but for us to do that our play will have to be much sharper and less hoofing it up the park
Last week when we were down I at half time I will put my hands up I couldn`t see where we would get a goal from and we got 2 , So more of the same please

Stuck out here in Ghana…no video. Switched aff.

I am going to check the full time scores and just hope we have managed to get some sort of result.

JH will no doubt ring the changes….he has to.

Chalmers will come off … why is he even starting ? Cole will come on.

DT will come on and O’Hara and probably Porteous….It will be panic induced like last week. Will it work? Hopefully.

No point in arguing guys. JH is not really inspiring is he? We might get lucky today like we did last week. That’s our best hope…. Luck….

These games could go either way. The only thing I know for sure is if we pick up something today, it`ll be quiet on here tonight. If not there is a whole host of folk that just cannot wait to put the boot in to the manager over team selection and tactics. They will be rubbing their hands together in glee

But I do still think JH is a hopeless manager, should never have been at EEP and whatever happens should never be there now or in the future.

Two of the worst corners I think I`ve ever seen. Think rhe attempted short corner was just the worst but the low one in following it wasn`t far behind. At least some of the action is at the right end this half but can`t see us scoring.

Yogi is leaving this late to change something, which for 65 minutes hasn`t looked like we`d score.

Jones off, Dom/Kamwa on, try and get the balls into the box from a different angle.

QOTS are down but 8th no longer in our own hands. Patrick travel to Ayr 3 pts and 8 GD clear of Raith in 5th, who play Killie. Play-offs loom.

Full time, a quite frankly disgusting performance.

Thistle are pretty much guaranteed the playoffs due to the goal difference, they will now rest players for Ayr.

Honestly can`t put into words just how awful, how disgusting a performance that was, I can think of a header from Todorov that was as comfortable a save as you could like as our one shot in 90 minutes, in a relegation crunch match. John Hughes is a great motivator? Pull the other one.

So next week we need to win and Ayr can’t win against a likely weakened thistle team. Can’t see it now really but I’ll go anyway and if we escape then I’ll celebrate as if this team is the greatest pars side of all time even though it’s possibly the worst side in my 39 years.

How can a team be so utterly and consistently inept away from home? 3 wins in 2 years in the league!
We are 5th in home league results and dead last in away results. Why is this??

3 of the goals for Airdrie today were from McCabe, Smith and MacDonald, 3 ex players. Could be facing them very soon, although MacDonald wouldn`t play. Suspect Ayr will beat Partick reserves next week, rendering our result inconsequential.

Today we knew what we had to do !! and that was take something from the game
And once again we are inept garbage ,woeful and absolutely pathetic !!
3 attempts at goal the whole game and 1 on target tells the story
We switch off at a corner and that has beaten us
I wouldn`t say Partick were brilliant they were there to be beaten today ! but if you do not turn up you get zero , I probably expected too much today thinking that the Pars would turn up and get something from the game but I should have known better as they haven`t turned up away from home all season
I hope JH doesn`t come out and say that he cannot fault their efforts , anybody can run about like a headless chicken , I cannot even think who you could give MOM to either as everyone of them was as bad as the other

Another terrible performance, and we can count ourselves very lucky that QoS didn`t win and take it to the last game next week. We created nothing yet again and even when we got 2 quick corners in the second half, nether could even beat the first man, with Todorov and McCann in the middle, and it does make you wonder what the players do during the week. Fed up watching this cross week after week

Poor against an out of form Partick team. Ayr equalising makes chances very slim of us finishing 8th. Shame all our hard work at home has been outdone with our shockingly bad away form.

At least we now know that it`s an absolute must win next v QotS, then hope for a Partick victory.

Or a draw, and pray Thistle to do the business by scoring 2 more than Ayr.

We held onto Grant for too long and the rot set in. We are at home is the only consolation, but I always fear a team with nothing to lose. Yogi hasn’t performed as I had hoped - it’s all if’s and but’s and no good to us in our current predicament.

If only Partick never had that goal difference cushion I would have been more confident.

The pars … for some reason we always… always make our life so much harder than it has to be.

A difficult pitch indeed but that was rubbish. Edwards the best of a very poor bunch, Lawless the worst. I think we could have used both Cole and Dow, subs needed to be earlier as well. The difference was the set pieces, ours were dire, Thistle`s decent.

Hopefully Thistle return the favour next weekend.

Funny seeing the comments thinking it was a good team selection before the game, jones and breen wouldn’t get a game at junior level they are absolutely murder. Punting the ball was an absolute joke of a tactic to 2 absolute lumps upfront that couldn’t do anything between them. Disgraceful performance and should be embarrassed to call themselves professional football players , 11 boys out the stand could’ve put more effort than those ***** did

A very scrappy game. Not much for the forwards in either team to work with because both teams were lumping the ball forward. The rutted pitch and windy conditions made playing cultured football well nigh impossible. Thought Ambrose had his best game for us so far. To suggest the players didn`t give their all is slightly insulting. I think they tried as best they could in the circumstances and in the second half were the stronger team. To avoid the playoffs (correct me if I`m wrong) we need to beat Q o S and Partick need a draw at Ayr. If Ayr beat Partick we are in the playoffs.

Absolutely garbage performance on a shocking pitch. I watched us warm up and knew it was going to be a long afternoon.

However I`m quite optimistic we can win next Friday at home in front of a noisy EEP. Then it`s all about Ayr v Partick. They`ll be nervous too remember and even if they rest a couple of players will still give Ayr a game.

Might be another wee twist to come.

Our support was brilliant today but it was really sad to hear Dan Pybus getting abused as he came off the pitch. He didn`t play well but has been one of our best most consistent players these last few weeks. Think about it when you`re screaming abuse? He looked absolutely devastated.

We weren`t good in the first half but there wasn`t too much in the game. Two sides struggling with a bad pitch and an annoying wind.

Second half was shocking, about as bad an attempt at chasing a game as you could ever see. It was just a sea of nothingness and we never looked anywhere near making a chance for a goal. The best hope was if we could get balls in the box but just about every one was terrible - from open play and especially from corners.

Being more direct today, on a terrible pitch, was the right call. However, the point others have made about never getting support up to be available for the second ball is absolutely right.

I`m glad Ayr equalised, and I don`t think they are certainties to win next week. If we can win our own game, I`d say it`s about 50/50 as to who gets 8th place.

I don`t think you can question the players` effort either. Pybus had a poor game but some fans have short memories. Chalmers was getting it tight as well from some fans but I thought he was one of our better performers. Ambrose marshalled the defence well.

It`s all very well playing a couple of big guys up front but the service to them was either down the middle or from deep. I don`t think we hit the bye-line once which wasn`t surprising with Thomas on the bench for most of the game.

Chalmers, Lawless and Pybus were extremely poor today. Thought McCann and Ambrose were good and it`s hard to expect much from breen and Jones given the amount of football they`ve played. Todd showed he`s a far better option than Comrie in his brief spell being able to cross with his left foot. Why was Cole not brought on, at the very least for his set piece delivery? And why did Hughes take up until the last 10-15 mins to figure out the team wasn`t working? Strange game all round

I don`t think it was for the lack of trying, a few bobbles went against us but also set pieces both attacking and defending wise were disappointing especially given we had some bigger bodies on the pitch. At home next week I think revert to a more conventional formation with Mccann/O`Hara leading the line. Get Todd back in at right back, Breen playing alongside Ambrose, Cole in for Chalmers and maybe an attacking three of Kamwa, lawless and Thomas behind the striker. But who knows what Hughes will do after the lineup today

Yogi`s had plenty time to turn things around. Can`t go on blaming PG. At least PG realised after a few games that we weren`t going to pass our way up the table and tried a more direct approach before he was punted. Yogi has been able to bring in a few players but signed the likes of Chalmers in the belief that we could get out of this mess with sideways passes. We are just weak. Other teams are more physical. Derek Ferguson eluded to that in his radio analysis of last weeks game. We cannot impose ourselves physically in games and we don`t have much pace in the team. Yeah, we can pass it around nicely when it all clicks but that`s not what the championship is all about and never has been. Arbroath, not Barcelona, should be the blueprint for success in this league. It might not be "pretty" but they score a lot of goals, win a lot of games, and I doubt their fans are bored.

I suppose brilliant managers and outstanding players grow on the trees in Pittencrief Park. I`ll have a look on Friday and see what`s available. Good teams are built slowly but surely. Wholesale clearouts seldom work and we haven`t had the financial clout for several years to go out and buy a whole team of world beaters.

I recall Yogi saying Chalmers has a habit of passing to his own players. Now we know why. Because they are all behind him so easy to find.

Yogi is a dinosaur. Talks the talk but simply cannot do the job. Needs punted after we go down

These games could go either way. The only thing I know for sure is if we pick up something today, it`ll be quiet on here tonight. If not there is a whole host of folk that just cannot wait to put the boot in to the manager over team selection and tactics. They will be rubbing their hands together in glee

You are thinking along the same lines as I was when I posted my preference in the team for Patrick thread. DT should have started today , but in a free role behind two strikers. They double up on him when he plays wide left. But as a 10, a lot harder to do. It’s criminal that Chalmers staters before DT….bizarre..

I think we have ended up this season where most people predicted. Its interesting that Yogi hasnt been giving updates after matches or interviews on the website. I assume he is busy planning for next season. At this stage players must be weighing up their options for next year and no doubt a number will have an indication that they will move on either by choice or non renewal of contracts. With Yogi coming in we have tried to come from a long way back and its been a rocky road for sure. I suspect there will be alot of changes next year whether we stay up or go down. My gut feeling is we will be in the playoffs and we will survive the drop.

Performances have improved but given that its a tight league we haven`t been consistent enough and the easy goals we lost at the start of the season have cost us. Yogi deserves another season as he has had to play the hand he has been dealt in many ways. Im confident that next season we will improve as it can only get better.
