Sorry but did he even break sweat tonight? How he played in English premier league I’ll never know! Game changed when he came on for pybus, as Dan is by far our best centre mid

It just beggars belief that John Hughes is desperate to get 20 mins out of Dorrans in such an important game when he hasn’t played for weeks!

Maybe I’m giving him too much credit but with the Ayr game at 3-0 he’s taken off our best player to rest him for next week and got some minutes into Dorrans who hasn’t played for a while, would seem one of his more sensible calls no ?

So against ayr, reece cole comes on and changes the game with his goal, getting passes forward etc, and never to be seen again? What kind of message does it send that our manager would rather get someone on who’s been out for weeks and barely kicked a ball all season?

Can only think yogi wants dorrans valuable experience in the team for the ‘big games’ coming up.

Based on what I’ve seen this season there’s only been one game where dorrans looked good, 3-0 win over ayr, the rest he’s been p1ss poor like the rest of them.

He should be a stand out at this level even if the legs had gone, he’s just going through the motions this season, hopefully he bows out and we’re not stuck with him next season.

Things will be looking up……..now yogi is gone!

I`d have Dorrans in that team whenever he is available. Polworth, Lawless, Chalmers and Thomas have been rank rotten the past month. Unfortunately this manager seems to stick with the players he brought in. Dow and Cole on the bench are no worse than any of them. He has chopped and changed strikers on a regular basis and all the time we have no supply to them. On current form and attitude we will be lucky to get past Queens Park far less Airdrie or Montrose.

Of course. Because, according to Yogi, Dorrans is the best footballer at our club. Well what a damning indictment of everyone else. His best days are long gone and it is there for everyone to see. Except Yogi of course. And a few on here.

Does anyone still listen to Yogi and his “insights”?? I gave up ages ago when I realised he lives in some Mirror Universe to the rest of us!

Understandable question given our manager has chosen to hardly ever play him. However, in the brief appearances he has made, it is clear to me that he has more football about him than most of our midfield that are playing every week, in that he can thread a forward pass, can cross a ball, and take a free kick. Shame we have not seen him get a decent run in the team to show whether he can do it on a consistent basis but for me, he would play before some of the current regulars.

I’ve always liked him on his brief appearances and he was highly regarded by the Thistle fans - I just don’t understand why he’s been given so few chances when the likes of Chalmers plays every week.

The manager has hinted in quite a few interviews that Cole isn`t too good at the `dirty` side of midfield play. I think he may view him as a bit of a luxury player in the cut-and-thrust of the Scottish Championship.

I’m in the same boat. From the very few glimpses we’ve had of cole I’ve always been impressed, I wish he had got more of a chance along side pybus. The 1-1 draw at home to callie he came on and changed the game, came on against ayr and got the important first goal. He has hardly ever been used by yogi.

If that`s the case how does Hughes justify playing Chalmers every game? The guy loses every 50/50 and despite his height gets beaten in the air so often (great header for the OG though). Cole at least tries to create something in midfield, the fact he hasn`t played a single minute since the Ayr game is baffling if players are being picked on merit.

I agree in the championship you always need at least one battling midfielder in the team but you also need one that can carry the ball forward or chip in with some goals. Coming into this season it was really the main problem position in my opinion and Grant made a total mess of it, Hughes tried to add his own guys which also hasn`t paid off.

As Hughes himself was a battler I cannot for the life of me understand why he plays Chalmers. He would back out of a tackle with a box of Andrex.

He just strolls around with no urgency or passion, he is a joke really.

We need battlers.

Kamwa has to come in and Cole would be a refreshing change at least.

Play the same team and formation of late and we are going down.

Two games Cole has came on and twice he changed the game - against Inverness and Ayr. It`s unbelievable that he didn`t at least get a chance to start a few games ahead of Chalmers. Chalmers brings nothing to the team.

Dorrans is obviously a quality player. If he isn`t playing I am sure he brings things to the training pitch to help the younger players. I hope he stays next season.

In yogis interview on Monday, the love in for Dorrans continues. Is there a clause in his contract that he has to speak about him every week? If he was even half as good as made out then we’d actually maybe see a good performance or some effort from him

Ok al bite quality player? Aye mibby 10-15 years ago but not now when he’s on the pitch he shows about as much effort as he showed interest when he’s not playing that much is proved by the fact that he sat for 90mins with his beek in his phone if you think that’s a guy we need helping the younger players then you need to have a word

He looked absolutely done at Dundee, didn`t he? As if his legs are trailing through treacle. Game totally passes him by. One of our main problems this season has been our midfield falling to bits like a chocolate fireguard. Chalmers, Pybus, Dorrans...all not good enough.
