It’s almost as if we are wanting to go down……let’s see what transpires but I would have liked to have seen Kamwa start. A big fast and direct player. The tattie field would suit him.
Chalmers must have dodgy pictures of Yogi….there is no other explanation..

Chalmers continues to pass backwards and I am baffled as to how he is still a starter. Keeping possession alone doesn`t win football matches if you go backwards and do little to break down defences - For those who don`t see what Lawless does go and watch the QoS highlights and you will see he was involved in our goal and most of the other chances we created. I`d love to know what Pybus and Cole are not even in the squad when we have three potential central defenders on the bench. Yogi is too defensive a coach for my liking.

There is something so wrong at the club that the players cannot get themselves playing a higher standard than what’s being produced. Especially in a play off game! What is it that dulls their attitude from signing. Is it the management? Doubt it as it was same when PG was here, is it the general atmosphere? Certainly not the fans they have backed this garbage for too long.

You can’t be serious re Ambrose?? Hes awful and could definitely cost us the play offs. He’s constantly flat footed, shanks the ball everywhere, too many touches, doesn’t command the air and let’s the ball bounce, can’t header the ball straight and high and is constantly wrong side of the striker leading with his wrong foot, I can’t believe he’s had the career he’s had. It’s not even like his legs have massively gone, his technique of striking the ball is murder

Im not a football tactician by any means, so I have no idea what he is trying to achieve with the slow motion build up and having to break down a solid defence that we always give them time to organise.
I just long for a bit of pace and some defence splitting accurate passes. Is that too much to expect. I love the Pars but gimmee a bit of excitement at least for part of a game or I just canny justify the expense. Its depressing.

Well the commentators thought he done well too. He is a bombscare at times for sure and I wish we had a more conventional CH partnering Donaldson, but I did not think he was bad tonight. He did what he had to do defensively quite well.

We weren`t quite as bad as I was expecting, which is pretty faint praise. I thought they`d cause us more problems and I`d have taken a draw beforehand.
Thought Dorrans had a good game and didn`t have as big a problem as others with the O`Hara sub.
There must be an issue with Thomas though. Their left-back looked the weak link and the last thing he would have fancied was Dom coming off the bench to run at him for the last half hour.
Got to fancy us to take them out at EEP though, which is the only objective. Tonight didn`t need to be pretty as long as we progress.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

"There must be an issue with Thomas though."
Think the issue is with the manager. He did exactly the same at the Rovers with Bobby Barr, but the players hated Hughes so much they voted for him as their player`s player of the year as a final up yours to Hughes for freezing him out.

Dorrans and Todd were decent and Dow did well but tired and faded away in 2nd half. Poor besides that though.
I bet if Chalmers was clean through on an open goal he would still look for a square pass.

Tonight was probably a night for McCann against two centre halves who weren`t massive, but we tried to play long to O`Hara and it just became a 60/40 to them.
Chalmers was horrendous, Lawless slightly better than what he has been the last 6 weeks. Nobody really shone and it had the feeling we were happy not to lose rather than trying to kill the game as early as possible.
Dorrans is a very good footballer, his technique is tremendous but he has no heart at all. We missed the dig of Pybus tonight and if he`s fit he must play on Saturday.
Nothing from Dow, surprised Thomas didn`t come on for him.
Massive game Saturday now!
C'mon Ye Pars!

It’s clear Hughes has his favourites and seems to freeze out the others. Gaspuitas, Wighton had to go elsewhere to get a game, Todorov has hardly had a look in despite being a more natural finisher than McCann. Dow struggles to get a game and it’s pretty obvious he’s not a fan of Thomas. If Heaven forbid Hughes stays next season you can pretty much bet Dow, Thomas, Todorov and the rest that he doesn’t like for some strange reason will all go.
He went on about players with a face like thunder in the pre game interview- perhaps they’ve got a face like thunder because no matter how well they do you won’t play them?

Poor stuff going for a draw when if we had put a bit of pressure on a game we could have won, crazy team selection and tactics.
Road closures and diversions on the way home just added to a miserable night

FWIW. Ambrose had a shaky first ten minutes but hardly put a foot wrong after that. Thought he played well overall.
Chalmers simply has to be dropped though…
You can’t be serious re Ambrose?? Hes awful and could definitely cost us the play offs. He’s constantly flat footed, shanks the ball everywhere, too many touches, doesn’t command the air and let’s the ball bounce, can’t header the ball straight and high and is constantly wrong side of the striker leading with his wrong foot, I can’t believe he’s had the career he’s had. It’s not even like his legs have massively gone, his technique of striking the ball is murder
Couldn’t have said that any better.

We can argue all night about certain players` performances but one thing I would not question tonight was our players` effort and commitment. The danger in these games is that the less-fancied team applies themselves better and the `favourites` don`t match it. It was a very keenly-contested game but played in the right spirit and there were very few fouls and no bookings and I would not fault our boys` attitude at all.
I found the booing of O`Hara being replaced by McCann weird as O`Hara had hardly been outstanding and it seemed reasonable to give their defence a different kind of problem in the latter part of the match. I suspect Dorrans was subbed because he was knackered which was understandable given his lack of game-time. I thought he had a good game with a few touches of real class.
I was actually expecting a wee bit more of QP and would have been happy to take a draw if offered it before the game. That pitch is very unpredictable and not conducive to a passing game but hopefully EEP on Saturday will suit our game better.

EEP, in the play off second leg v Cowdenbeath when they beat us, everyone was saying how we’d play much better on the wide, flat surface at EEP. No one seemed to recognise that Cowdenbeath might also play better on that type of surface so let’s not assume that our pitch will only give us an advantage.

There were a few other significant factors, which contributed to the result that painful night, dd. JJ left out several of our better, more experienced players and replaced them with kids. Cowden had two good strikers who went on to play at higher levels and to cap it all, we gifted them a goal inside the first minute. We started badly and faded....
Not your average Sunday League player.

You don’t need to remind me GG. There’s similarities with some of our better (ok, less worse) players being benched for weeks.

The fans certainly weren’t booing O’Hara but the managers choice. Chalmers is easily one of the worst midfielders the pars have seen Polworth done nothing in a pars shirt and they get the full game. Lose a midfielder and the put MCann on with O’Hara. But can’t take his own signings off
A par since 1985

The booing of the Ohara for McCann sub was neither weird or hard to work out. 99% of pars fans want to see those 2 up top and not one for one.

1 up front is absolute rubbish, the game was there to be won and yet again yogi didn’t have a go, not like Queen’s Park actually done anything and we seemed content with a draw

This argument about one/two up front has been going on for months. Like it or lump it, he`s not going to change his preferred way of playing for the most important games of the season. It`s not as if we`re the only team that plays this way. It seems to be the fashionable way to play now.

Wasn’t a great game last night but some of our own supporters even only 3 minutes in were awful. I had one guy and his family behind us that were so negative on every single play or touch of the ball I had to move.
He may have been frustrated from the seasons performance but it isn’t helpful. More moaning than a dodgy porn movie.

Been to most games both home and away this season, and watched us steadily get worse under Hughes he has brought in a few of his own signings and loanees who have contributed to the position we now find ourselves in , im not sure how much input the alleged coaching team have into tactics and team selection but they could be equally culpable in what has been a horrendous season for the loyal Pars support.
