Kelty could have swung it by offering him a driving job or an apprenticeship.

Haaland has the potential to eclipse the scoring record of Sergio Aguero with City. At 21, he appears to be a far better investment than last summer`s target, Harry Kane, a fine player, but getting on a bit now compared to Haaland and injury plagued throughout his career.

I doubt Haaland will be around for 10 years like Sergio so I think his 261 goals are safe for a while yet.

Two rather cynical responses from mcfc and Kelty there. 😃

If Haaland stays at the Etihad long enough to help City win the Holy Grail, I think the fans will be happy enough. For all the fine creative players City can boast, none of them come close to the predatory scoring instincts of the young Viking.

Haaland is a beast - if he`s stays fit (and stays at City) then Aguero`s record will be beaten.

The risk with Haaland (and indeed any player) is his durability - I don`t think he`s had any big injuries yet, and he`s a big lad with big muscles that will be under a lot of strain and high forces.

Maybe not so much now that his agent has passed away but according to some German journalists, his long term plan was to go to one of the Spanish giants but he felt he needed to make another step up in between.

In terms of his signing for Citeh, I`m not sure it`s a massive game changer. They already score lots of goals, they already win lots of games. They lose in all sorts of ways but often its a defensive lapse, a bit of brilliance from the opposition or a Pep brain fart. They and Liverpool are so far ahead of the rest in England that they can afford to rotate. He`ll also have to fit into a fairly rigid system and Pep has fallen out with Scandinavian superstars before... and as always it`ll be about winning the Champions League. Despite their protestatioms, that`s all that matters to their owners.

Looks like he is arriving too late to stop Liverpool from claiming a quadruple. City getting pumped by West Ham at half time. What`s the point of turning a blind eye to the human rights abuses if Liverpool still become the greatest club side ever?

Be hard to argue against it if they won the quadruple. Certainly in a British context. Let`s us hope and prey that doesn`t happen.

Liverpool have hoovered up £160m plus from Standard Chartered.

That’s Standard Chartered who...

Have been fined $1bn+ for facilitating money laundering for various criminal cartels and syndicated

Have been fined for breaking economic sanctions for the Iranian regime

Were found to be breaking economic sanctions after the Russian invasion of Georgia and to this day are doing nothing about the various offshore schemes they’ve promoted and sold to Russian oligarchs

But they put their name on Liverpool’s shirts to sell investment banking services to primary school kids on the Wirral - definitely not to wash their image. And Liverpool really are the good guys.

City will win on goal difference as it stands right now but Liverpool will surely score again against Wolves so that`ll mean City will need to score at least twice against a Villa side that have been swatting away City all afternoon.
Quadruple is within their grasp now.

The English Premiership is becoming as much of a two-horse race as the Scottish Premiership. Both were won with 93 points from 38 games with Liverpool second in England on 92 points and Rangers second in Scotland on 89 points. The gap to third was much bigger up here but there were only two serious contenders in both leagues.

Hardly. United finished 2nd 2 season ago. Granted both have been great last and this season but to quote the Scottish Prem is crazy

Disgusting scenes as Olsen, the Villa keeper, is attacked by several City fans as he attempts to leave the pitch. Utter cretins.

Towk you sound very bitter.
It must be hard for you being a man u fan to see other clubs (especially Liverpool) doing well while the once mighty man u are pretty mediocre these days at best.
I blame the Glazers... It`s been a steady decline since they appeared.
Chin up mate. Your team managed to finish 6th..35 points behind the champions... On a goal difference of 0... Things are looking up 🤣

Not just bitter but petty as well. I`m just glad that the greatest tram Liverpool have ever had has coincided with Man City peaking as well which has stopped the Anfield mob from winning even more.

Well last i looked the prize money for the epl was more than the prize money for tge champions league so plenty of cash for man city to spend on even better players .
Dont think there`s much money in the league cup or the fa cup for Liverpool to spend.... But champions league money... If they win it of course.
So... Anyway towk... What`s your take on the Glazers?
Good or bad for utd?

Most Utd fans hate them but I`m a bit indifferent towards them. Under their ownership they have gotten to three champions league finals (winning one) and won five league titles. They have always given managers huge sums to spend and allowed them to bring in their own backroom staff. The problem of course is they also take large sums out in dividends out of the club but that doesn`t impact on the playing budget as they have increased turnover greatly (and not by over inflated phoney sponsorship deals). Ultimately they have made poor choices in managers but that is only when looked on with hindsight.
I`m cautiously optimistic on how Ten Hagg will do. He doesn`t strike me as the type who will stand for any nonsense and that will several Utd players finally being shown the door.

And will Ronaldo be one of them?

I read a snippet online a couple of weeks back that stated he was already planning his exit.
Although its best to take any stories you read online with a big pinch of salt these days.
Also read that man u had no debt pre Glazers.... Now they have a truck load of debt... Is that true?

The BBC has apologised after a message appeared on the news channel saying "Manchester United are rubbish".

The text mistakenly popped up on the news ticker at the bottom of the screen during a tennis update just after 0930 on Tuesday.

Later in the morning, presenter Annita Mcveigh apologised to any Manchester United fans who may have been offended.

She said the mistake had occurred as someone was learning how to operate the ticker and was "writing random things".

Another message which appeared on the ticker read simply: "Weather rain everywhere."

I don’t think an apology to “offended” fans was really necessary. Anyone who was offended by this should maybe have a word themselves. We all know how precious some fans are though.
