I’m sure Edinburgh City are moving back to meadowbank stadium for next season, hopefully that will be grass. Also, I wonder where Queen’s Park will be playing next season, unsure if lesser hampden will be ready for next season?

I was with a couple of QP fans before the game at Firhill and they seemed to think that Lesser Hampden would be ready for them at the start of the season.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,

Clyde no longer play at Broadwood either, not sure if a new pitch has been announced?

"Clyde no longer play at Broadwood either, not sure if a new pitch has been announced?"
I think it might be Hamilton. Astro again if so.

Clyde are playing at Hamilton and Meadowbank has an artificial pitch so that only leaves Queens Park and if Lesser Hampden is ready that will be an artificial pitch

I believe lesser Hampden is artificial grass as well. They also changed stadium plans last year, so that a 500 seat away stand is behind one of the goals. When that was announced, in December 2021, it was said that they were on track for Queens Park to open the 2022-23 campaign at Lesser Hampden. Total capacity will now be just below 2,500.
Meadowbank will be artificial, stadium plans for that look horrendous for supporters. The stands are at pitch level, with a running track between them and the pitch. Think one of the stands is largely terracing though, which isn’t bad.
As above, Clyde are going to be playing at Hamilton’s stadium next season.

If Queens Park are in League 1 where will they play. One of their fans on Saturday reckoned Lesser Hampden was likely but not confirmed.

If Lesser Hampden isn’t ready, it must be likely Queens Park will use Broadwood again until it is, particularly since Clyde have moved out. Only reason they didn’t use it this year, is due to being in the same league as Clyde, who were playing their home games at Broadwood.

Sounds like the "seaside" league is more like the "carpet burn" league!
Amazing how many clubs are on astro now yet we had to tear ours up!

Has anyone seen the new Meadowbank? The huge (admittedly not in great shape) 4000-seater main stand has been replaced with a kind of shelter with a paltry three rows of seats. You can see it in the background here: https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/edinburgh-councillor-shares-fresh-pictures-23033829

Queens park will definitely have a grass pitch at lesser Hampden.
If the stadium is ready us a different story altogether.

Go back to plastic, revenue stream for events, concerts, etc.
Wouldn`t need the new training facility either, is the new CEO that way inclined?
As GG posted a few weeks ago, the new Bernabeu, even Real seeing the potential money that could be generated, the stadium is unused at least half the year!

They have planning permission for another stand on the other side of the running track at Meadowbank which will take the total capacity to 2000 but given the pace of work at Meadowbank so far, I very much doubt that it will be ready for the start of the new season. The other pitch on the aerial shot posted is the astro which Leith Athletic play on, I believe.

This will possibly be a stumbling block for potential signings, there are a lot of players who don’t like playing on artificial surfaces
Yes ours is great but they will consider playing half their games on artificial turf not what they want to do

On the plus side, they won`t go to any of our rivals either as they`d be playing all bar two or four on plastic.

I was thinking that if half games on plastic and half on grass, do we finally have an edge on our opponents.
When I played, a change of boots to meet the surface was never my favourite.
So will the other clubs with the majority of their season on plastic feel coming to East End is an issue as it is grass?
Probably not if we play like we have done this season☹️
