Mcpake binned Jimmy Nic previously from the assistant manager role, he had Dave McKay as his assistant at Dundee.
If I were to guess I`d say McKay would come in with Dorrans taking a player coach role.

Jimmy Nic is assistant manager of Northern Ireland! He`s not going to pack that in for a team in the 3rd tier of Scottish leagues!

Thought that was when vivid kicked in? Was that just an excuse to punt him?. McKay would be good. Didn`t know JN was with NI

Dundee fan on P&B has said Dave MacKay will likely be his assistant and his brother in law Martin Harty will be a coach, or at least he was with them.
He`s got a good relationship with Dorrans so if he is staying I could see a player/coach role.

That would be a good wee set up, I still think Dorrans has a fair bit to offer, he was a very good player at a high level for almost his entire career, by all accounts McPake doesn`t mess about with players, keeps Shields in the position which he has been good at as well
I can only dream, Charlie Adams and Dorrans were two of my favourite Scottish players, would love to see Adams, even though physically he looks done.

If Adams has a partner in the middle with him that has a great engine he would rule a game with his quality of passing.

I hope dorrans will GTF from the club entirely.

Personally don`t see what Dorrans offered last season on the park. Doesn`t mean I want him to gtf though. He might be good as a coach.
I guess the manager needs to have confidence in his lieutenants.

Doran’s disrespected the club and the fanbase in a way no DAFC captain ever has before and to this day has not apologised. He can GTF.

It’s a shame dorrans doesn’t really have an obvious position to play. He’s not got the legs for a midfielder, not a winger not a striker didn’t have a key pass in him last season either when played further forward. I don’t think the drop in quality of opposition this season will be that big against the other 3 challengers either.
If he could be transformed into a full back or something where his experience and reading of the game would help then he might be okay otherwise I don’t see him playing much but will still be a big wage if a player/coach.
I assume Adam’s legs have gone but alongside pybus could we play a 442? Depends on the wingers tracking back I guess. Like the thought of Adam taking our set pieces though, finally some quality.
Things will be looking up……..now yogi is gone!

Thought he played very well, went into a few challenges aswell. I`ve been highly critical of him at times this season but he really stepped up against QP

Doesn’t change the fact he offers nothing going forward, even in league 1 we’ll need some forward impetus in the middle of the park. A midfield of chalmers, dorrans and pybus isn’t going to help us score any goals.

Tbf cardle can still play and his commitment to giving his all for the club and relationship with the fanbase would be unlikely to be an issue. If we don’t bring him back he’ll probably show us why we should have when we play Kelty. What’s he still got left in the tank idk.

I think it would be great to have Cardle involved with the club again whether it be player coach or just a coach even an academy role. Just imagine a few super joe skilled players produced.

Mad the amount of grown men that shout at players every week but are still upset because Graham Dorran`s said some naughty words. He wasn`t our best performer last season, albeit no one was, however he was far from the worst.

Dorrans has been unfairly criticised in the past but I thought he was leaving?

Dorrans made a statement that he was considering retirement. To turn around now and say, “actually, I know I’m done and I was a huge let down last year but I’m seeing out my last year of my contract” would be a bit wild. Hopefully he does retire.

i dont think he did, not in those exact terms anyway after the playoff game.
he needs to get away from here whether he wants to keep playing or not

Didn’t he just say he had to sit down with the manager and discuss his future? He’ll have known he was one of the top earners and the club might have been looking to offload that cost/make him available to other clubs. Think reporters then tried to make more of a headline out of it. Change of manager means he’ll have had to wait until now to speak to the manager about his future.
