Celtic, Heart of Midlothian and Rangers will join the Lowland League for season 2022/23, creating a 19-team league for one season only. This will result in a 36-game fixture calendar.
Guest clubs are required to field seven players eligible for Scotland national teams in the starting line-up.
Each guest club will provide funding to help develop the league and its clubs.
The Scottish FA will lead on a review of the pyramid structure, with recommendations proposed ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Aye that’s the foot in the door. SFA will be falling over themselves to get all three into League 2 pronto.

Only one season as that’s the agreement voted on
For each season, one season was agreed last year and teams have voted again for another one season.
It can only help Scottish Football long term, yes it benefits the teams involved first and foremost but most of these players will end up playing at levels below.
Both Celtic and Rangers say players have come on leaps and bounds by playing at this level and have had 2-3-4 making first team debuts at these clubs which is what it’s all about.
Will never be voted Into league 2 with the self preservation of most teams.

None of them can get promoted, if they win it.

"It can only help Scottish Football long term "
Nope, try again.
"yes it benefits the teams involved first and foremost"
There ya go!
If the players are good enough to make it to the National team they`ll either be in the first team picture already or loaned out to other Premiership clubs or to the Championship. They won`t be jobbing about playing students and plumbers.
