England and Wales have their matches free to view. But Scotland don`t. This is very disappointing. I`ll watch the Wales match even though the commentary is in Welsh.

if anyone has a VPN, the game is being shown on RTE2
just set your VPN to Ireland, go online and search for RTE player and just click to watch the match - no need for an RTE login or anything

Complete and utter embarrassment this half. Why on earth has Clarke dropped Souttar? McGinn has been completely off the boil recently too and squandered two decent chances. Being 2-0 down to this mob is unbelievable.

At present we cannot string 2 passes together well off the pace of this game
McGinn definitely should have scored too
Right now it is embarrassing

To be getting tactically outclassed by Stephen Kenny is worrying. He hasn`t got a plan B. It`s always 3-5-2, which can work but a lot of teams can set up to combat it like we`re seeing here. He needs to switch it up. Hopefully he`s brave and takes off Hendry for Ross Stewart. No doubt though it`ll his usual favourite that comes on - Armstrong.

Hendry has looked awful. We need to blood a new goalkeeper. McGinn is now in that `trying too hard for a goal` phase and is a liability today.
That Ireland defense is awful and we are not even close to exploiting it

He’ll not change anything as usual until it’s too late. Armstrong will come on and probably and probably a defensive player. Ross Stewart might get 3 mins at the end. He isn’t playing the team to their strengths and isn’t getting the best out of the players. We don’t need to play 3 centre backs when Tierney isn’t playing. Ireland are honking and we are way way worse. Dreadful.

i thought we were crap against Ukraine , at least they are a decent team
But today we have sunk even deeper Just when you start to get your hopes up after beating Armenia , you think we should be going there and getting the result
far too many players in our team well off the boil IE: McGinn, Hendry and Hanley
to name a few ! the latter 2 are just not good enough
we need to show at least a bit of fighting spirit ,
this is a team we really should be beating

I also hate the high balls from corners to the back post to Hanley. For those set pieces if the delivery is either a bit off or Hanley misses it the ball is almost always going to go dead.

I watched the U21 game yesterday and how we got a draw I do not know ! Spent 99% sitting in should have been gubbed and if this is the type of players we have coming through the ranks we are well behind when it comes to being technically gifted and of course way behind when it comes to tactics !
Today was just more of the same just utter garbage , second to everything it will give hope to Armenia so as said before I am not expecting to get anything there except a defeat !! I do feel sorry for all who travelled what a wasted journey

"Clarke should be out on is ear, another disgusting display. Feel for the fans who traveled."
Before today, we`d won 7 of the last 8 competitive games had we not? Seems a bit extreme to sack him after a bad display in a Nations League game in June.

Get him punted . Far too negative .
I`d argue he`s been one of our luckier managers and a fair few of his victories were due more to good breaks than his tactics .
He made an a*se of it against Ukraine, and appears to have learned nothing from it .
I`ve not heard his excuses after today`s debacle but not sure I need to .
He`s like a broken record .
I`m not sure who I`d put in his place , but hopefully someone who would attempt to get us playing with a bit of flair instead of the clunky style of play we`ve been watching under Clarke .

We have still got a really strong squad of players with people like McGinn, Robertson, McTominay, Tierney, Gordon, McGregor, Gilmour and a few more besides. We were poor against Ukraine & Ireland so we need the team to get back to the form they showed previously

What I don`t get is how Wales can constantly punch above their own weight and have always managed to give a solid performance even with a novice manager. I don`t think they`ve been thumped since the 6-1 defeat to Serbia when Coleman first took charge. We arguably have more strength and depth than them apart from Gareth Bale. Is it because they`re not full of egos? Did our players just expect to turn up today? Another reason is perhaps because Page might be willing to tweak the tactics - something Clarke seems unable to do.

If we park the fact that they have a world class player, who regularly wins games for them by himself...

Constantly...they`ve qualified for their first world cup since 1958. Yes they had a good run in the Euros a few years back, but put Bale in our team and we`d be very similar.

Constant, Since they`ve qualified for France euros. They got to the semis of the tournament - something I couldn`t even dream of Scotland doing.
It`s not just Bale that wins them matches. All of their players give it their all and never stop trying. They have an excellent mentality and always give the opposition a battle - something we struggle to do when it really matters.

Bale was rank against Ukraine.

If Steve Clarke is a tactical guru then his knowledge is not being transmitted to his players.
The first goal we had six players inside the six yard box, something of an overload I would have thought, but there were two Irish players free to bundle the ball home. A simple back post header took them all out of the equation. The second goal we had five defenders caught out with a chip ball when the Irish had only two players in attacking positions. The third goal was a strike that can happen nowadays with the light beach ball but the scorer was given time to turn and put leverage into his shot, which might have gone anywhere in my opinion.
These were basic defensive weaknesses that probably go beyond coaching. There is a lack of good decision making that runs right through Scottish football whether in defence, midfield or attack. We`re not sharp or canny enough.

I didn`t see the Wales v Ukraine game. Bale may have been rank but it was his free kick that caused sufficient panic for the only goal of the game to be scored.
Two Bale goals in the play-off at home to Austria as well.
He may not be at the peak of their powers but without him they wouldn`t have been at any of the 3 major championships they`ve qualified for in the last 7 years.

Bale steps up to take a free kick. There`s a sense of a threat in the Ukrainian defence as it`s Bale and not, say Daniel James or Joe Allen - because he`s literally banged one in the top corner in the play-off semi-final.
The defender then makes a mistake, Wales go one up and hang on for the rest of the game.
Bale has carried the team for years. He`s made things happen for them for years. When he stops playing, Wales stop qualifying again.

One thing worried me before a ball was kicked yesterday- this was 2 “British “ teams going at it. Look at results down the years not too predictable. We keep telling people we love being the under dog. Do you not think the Irish were fed up being told how crap they are, and had a point to prove. They might not win another game but at the moment they don’t care.
