Glory Days - what a team!

Remember the passion at EEP, the days when you didn’t rebuild your team every season and rely on loan players who have no passion for the club!

That penalty decision shows that ridiculously soft penalties have been given for years and aren`t the modern occurance they`re often claimed to be. Admittedly helped by the team involved.

Yeah, the penalty decision (at about 7:45 in the video) is an absolute shocker!

It was indeed the man who gave Stenhousemuir a penalty several years before.

I see from ParsDatabase that we lost the next three league games with an aggregate score of 0-10 and ended the season second bottom of the table; hardly believable after a performance like that!

Remember it well. Softest penalty I have ever seen. Indirect free kick at best.

The only penalty decision I have seen that was worse then that was ours at Tyncastle in the Skol cup semi against Airdie when Sandy Jamieson was judged to have handled the ball inside the box when in reality it hit his chest a yard outside the box. Davie Syme was the ref.

Years since I have seen that Pars V Celtic game and I still chuckle at the police inspector behind the goal celebrating when Ferguson scored what proved to be the winner.

Sandy Jamieson = Jimmy Sandison I think!

Yes, Sandy Jamieson was a character in the Irvine Welsh novel Marabou Stork Nightmares, based on Jimmy Sandison. The book references the infamous ‘handball’ in the Skol cup semi.

👍🏼 I wondered if any well read Pars fans would pick that up….

How fans see incidents differently.

"The only penalty decision I have seen that was worse then that was ours at Tyncastle in the Skol cup semi against Airdie when Sandy Jamieson was judged to have handled the ball inside the box when in reality it hit his chest a yard outside the box. Davie Syme was the ref."

We had a perfect view - I was (and am) 100% convinced the late Davie Syme called it correctly.
