Looking to win 7 out of 9 for each quarter = 21 points x 4 = 84 points which will surely give us the title given the opposing teams we will face. Hopefully James McPake and the team achieve this and get us out of this mess caused by Grant, Hughes and the BOD.

After last season my expectation is zero.
I’m not sure lumping undue pressure on the team in terms of targets is going to help.
I hope they do well…….

But I would expect signing to be made between today and the first league game of the season so my expectations will change nearer the start of the season

The CEO and Manager said if we win more games than we lose its a successful season.
If we don`t get promoted it`s failure in my eyes. We`ll have at least the 2nd biggest budget, doesn`t guarantee anything but the manager will have all the resources he needs to deliver.

What the CEO and manager say in public may be quite different from their targets for the coming season. I`d be very surprised if promotion is not the club`s aim but, after the farce around Peter Grant`s time, they`ll be wary of making any promises which could come back to bite them.
Better to say we`ll give 100% every game, win as many games as we can and see where that takes us.

If we can play to the players` strengths and not try and fit the players into a dogmatic system I think there is enough talent in the squad to win the league.
Expectation, though is that we make the play-offs and at least be challenging for top spot most of the season.

Given the relative performances of Airdrie and Montrose last season, specifically that they both accumulated significantly more points than Queens Park; I would expect that their objectives will be to equal or better last season. There will also be QoS and a possibly newly invigorated Falkirk. Whether a newly promoted Kelty will have sufficient competitiveness to handle the above might be a big ask (and even, perhaps, more so for FC Edinburgh).
Then there’s us? …. enough banana skins, I think, to make it an interesting season.

Winning the league is what we need, but I`d be happy with seeing us building a squad of the future rather than throwing money at disposable players to get us up. The ideal situation would be doing both (promotion with a core squad designed to stick together for a few years).

My worry is that we haven’t strengthened much and the boys from last season showed they couldn’t cut it under pressure, didn’t have the fight and weren’t good enough.
Promotion is the minimum expectation in this league but unless we strengthen further it could be a tough one.

I fancy we might be a bit hit and miss to start (hit against the smaller teams and miss against the other promotion favs) but will get better as the season goes on.
Fancy us to finish in a playoff spot. We’re a couple of good signings away from challenging and if we’re doing okay in top half a couple more to beef up the squad in January for a final push.
Always hard to tell at this point, we always do well in preseason and cup games.

For the long-term future of our club, nothing short of promotion is acceptable. Failure to achieve a swift return to the Championship could be catastrophic. The law of diminishing returns very much applies here; with our cost/income base, we could not afford a second season in this division.

I just want to be entertained after last season. Well clear of the bottom would be the minimum I suppose. That`s how low my bar is this season.
I`m actually totally fine with getting beat a few weeks if we then hump someone. That at least means that we`re capable of creating, scoring goals and playing well at times. It`s more of a problem when you never reach those heights and there`s just a malaise. Inconsistency can be addressed.
