I spotted in The Dunfermline Press death column that former Cowdenbeath and Blackpool full back, and Dunfermline resident, Henry Mowbray has passed away aged 78. Good interview with him here-

When you read that interview you realise he had a fantastic career. He was obviously one of these guys who played away in the background providing a solid platform to allow more gifted team-mates to show their skills.

Thanks for flagging up the piece, red-star. Like a lot of articles on the Cowden website, it`s a really interesting piece. I can remember Henry Mowbray playing for St Mirren but was unaware of his Dunfermline connections.

Henry was a good guy, always had time for a blether. He was my old gaffer at the East Port Bar Sunday League team a few years back when Paddy Wilson had the pub. . .RIP Henry 😔
