Seemingly the capacity at Meadowbank is only 500. Is there any news on when tickets are going on sale and how many will we get for away fans.

I believe they were hoping to have a temporary terracing built on the opposite side of the stand to increase their capacity but not too sure on the finite details.

Agreed. Probably Joe Chalmers fault if it doesn`t happen......

I’d be very wary of Joe Chalmers playing football near some temporary terracing.

Says it all, completely unsatisfactory that we’re in a position where all the loyal fans who want to go and support the team will be unable to do so. More than likely to happen elsewhere too.

I believe they sell all tickets via the fanbase app (kelty also use it) so we might not be able to sell the tickets from eep

500 is a ridiculously low capacity, even for League 1. Should there not be a minimum capacity for each League?

This isn’t the fault of Dafc so it’s ridiculous to criticise the club. It’s entirely down to FC Edinburgh and the football authorities for allowing them to play at an inadequate stadium. Surely they could have used a lowland largo ground with a much bigger capacity.

Although the capacity of the ground is certainly not acceptable if anyone looks at the views from the stand that is also a disgrace big massive running track from near enough ground level it is rotten

I`m not a big fan of setting a minimum capacity. It reminds me of the "Billy Big-boots" attitude of the SPL insisting that clubs nearly bankrupted themselves by building stadia that in practice were going to remain three-quarters empty most of the time.
How easy is it to throw up some temporary stands?
And how much did the redevelopment cost? (I`ve heard some ridiculous figures quoted).

I remember the Rangers 2012 were in the 1st division seeing mobile stands at Stenhousemuir and East Fife. Basically they were lorry trailers with seats. Why can`t FC Edinburgh hire some of those. Is it because they have not been made aware of them.

When you think about the amount of people that you can have standing all the way round a football pitch, a decent fence round the perimeter is bound to give you a couple of thousand. I passed that little stadium they have built for the rugby out by Murrayfield. That seems to be a collection of temporary stands, the roofs on them is just like a tent, there`s not much to them at all by way of a solid looking structure. They are surrounded by portacabins for the toilets. Only holds 7,800 people, including 2,000 standing. Each stand holds anywhere from 1,400 to 2,700.
I was very surprised when I was reading up about it that the cost was £5,700,000 (unbelievably for such a temporary looking structure), so that might be why FC Edinburgh can`t just stick up a temporary stand

If you look where they were playing previously, there was a small stand and standing around the perimeter, surely something similar could be done at Meadowbank.

I just find the whole thing bizarre that we have a club that is likely to lock out maybe between 1000-1500 pars fans.
The venue is not a football stadium either the pitch is miles away from the stand

If we get pumped at home to
Alloa on Saturday…no many will be too keen to travel,so that problem might be solved.

Edinburgh City (to hell with that stupid new name) don`t own Meadowbank so will be limited in what they can do. They`ll also be limited in alternative stadiums to play at. They may wish to consider relocating from Edinburgh to a new town...FC Glenrothes?

Livingston would be the historically more appropriate new town ...

No matchday ticket information on the FC Edinburgh site, only an option to buy a season ticket, probably go live next week. The Dunfermline game is their first home League game of the season. No information other than season ticket moans on Pie and Bovril. The FC Edinburgh season ticket page says open seating plan on match days. Looks like FC Edinburgh are not to worried about away fans attending any match. Capaciy crowd looms even if we get a poor result against Alloa.

Unlikely, I think these will be sold by FC Edinburgh, through the Fanbase app. We probably won’t be given tickets to sell.

Ticket Bought, no need for season ticket info.
I wonder why details are not on COWS yet, looks like FCE doing the sales on their own.

Email has gone out to season ticket holders now with a link to buy tickets as a ‘thank you’ but that ship has sailed given tickets were available early morning. At least Edinburgh have increased the capacity otherwise it would have been an absolute scramble.
