I can`t help wondering why Man U players feature so prominently. The article doesn`t say whether they're mainly from disaffected United fans or from those of other clubs. I guess it would be fairly easy to decide by reading the content of each tweet.
Still a sad reflection on society that so many folk can`t find something better to do.

I can understand some comments when a player performs poorly. However, I`ll never understand anyone on social media who is incessant with their dislike of a person they don`t even know.

It`s just a reflection of the low part of human nature GG. They used to say that going to a match on Saturdays was a great way for men to swear and cuss and get rid of all the frustrations of the working week. Now people can do that online.
I can understand though why some Man Utd fans may have become very frustrated with their team last year since they were individually and collectively woeful. But it was quite funny when it was tweeted that Liverpool were appealing a red card given to Harry Maguire because it meant he wasn`t going to play against Liverpool in the next game. I`m sure that you as a Man City fan would have appreciated that.

Agree with much of your post, Paralex and I would say the tweets about Harry Maguire from Liverpool fans are ironic and funny rather than abusive.
Not sure where you got the idea I`m a City fan - I`ve only seen them once live, circa 2015, when they lost 1-4 at home to Liverpool. Both these teams played the best football in the Premiership last season and were good to watch. I`m a Pars fan for my sins and have been since 1963. I might qualify for a Rolex next year. 🙂

Maybe I`m wrong GG but I did think a certain bias for the light blues was coming across loud and clear in your comments re the English Premiership. My own preference in that league seems to fluctuate depending on which team plays the most attractive football, with a certain liking for teams with Scottish players or managers. But I do like Liverpool.
Yes the Harry Maguire joke was particularly funny, given his close association with his national team but I`m sure he would be delighted at giving Scots fans a laugh at his expense.

Depends what / who you follow / post tbh. I get a laugh every day at some brilliant content including The Room Next Door, Olive & Mabel videos (yeah I know and I’ve got one o their books 😂) and some bonny travel photos from organisations I follow.
It’s easy to ignore content that offends / bores you imo.

I don`t deny I like watching City (and Liverpool). They were a good antidote after watching some turgid stuff from the Pars last season. I also like Pep. He comes across well. Not so much Klopp when his team lose. Call me an aficionado rather than a proper fan.

Depends who you follow. Can be a great way to connect with stuff you really like.

Spot on, Buffy. Like all forms of media, it depends on your selection. Take the internet - it`s a fantastic learning tool, but it can be misused and cause untold damage to impressionable people who go on certain sites.
Even TV can be hugely educational if you watch e.g. some excellent documentaries which bring far away corners of the world into our living rooms. Others tend to watch programmes like Big Brother.....😨
