Anyone else thinking there`s something not quite right about this broadcast? I can`t quite work it out but it`s like the commentators aren`t at the game. The sound is very low as well?

United were worthy winners, confident play with a magic winning goal, good crowd as well. Will help Scotlands co-efficient

Maybe that is the way of the future for smaller European games. The club streams are supplied to the TV stations for a fee. The club benefits financially from that, plus the broadcasting rights, which it shares with the away club. The TV station saves expensive travel, set-up and operational costs and potentially could commentate from the home studio.

Great result and performance.
Nobody had a bad game but thought Levett and Middleton were outstanding.

Utd will be doing well to qualify. I was impressed by AZ who had the better chances and more possession. Particularly impressed by AZ captain and his partner at centre back. They won everyhing in the air. Apart from the goal I cant recall the AZ keeper making another save. Having said that Utd`s goal was a cracker which came from playing the ball on the deck.
I would love to see Utd going through, I used to go up to Tannadice midweek to watch their European ties back in the 80`s , that was a great Utd side to watch.

looking at the evidence AZ stats first;
Possession 58% (42)
Shots 14 (6)
On Target 4 (2)
Corners 4 (2)
Suggests AZ were in control for much of match.

Strange stats. I really didnt think Utd were troubled in the slightest until the last 5 minutes, which they dealt with. They looked the more likely to win at any stage up to the 85th minute.

Other than getting papped out by part time Icelandic fishermen?
Or a second tier team from Sweden who got to the competition due to “fair play”?

The strange thing about this game is that United actually started quite well but then completely lost their defensive discipline. For that seventh goal the scorer was left totally unmarked.

United contributed a lot to their own downfall but AZ would be able to take care of any Scottish team with the possible exception of the OF. JMcP and Greg Shields could do worse than use the film of that game for coaching purposes. I would happily watch a team playing like that every week.

I would have thought rather, lack of profile of their league in Europe, requiring them to qualify for the group stages of European competition putting them in the same bracket as Scottish teams. So not that great after all.

Do folk not know how the Conference League works? Are folk seriously suggesting that losing to a side with recent Chanpions League and Europa League experience from one of the better national leagues in Europe is as embarrassing as losing over two legs to a side from Luxembourg that actually printed in their own programme "we know we have no chance and want to wish Rangers good luck in the next round"? Or losing to teams from Ireland, Iceland or Estonia?

United were well in the game up until the 3rd goal, which was a terrible mistake from the keeper. After that, everything AZ tried came off and United were punished just about every time they lost the ball. They`re a good team with fine individual players too, just a bad night against a really good AZ team.

7 nil to AZ against a team that beat Barcelona in the Camp Nou? Where has it all gone wrong?
Maybe the AZ fans were setting off fireworks 🎆 at 4am outside Dundee United`s hotel like the PSV fans were doing to Monaco.

Oh that brought a good laugh, widtink. Pity that the game didn`t.
You do have to wonder what it is that has happened to Scottish football since the 1980s, when provincial clubs like Aberdeen and United were major players in Europe.
The formation of the premier league? The uneven distribution of revenue? The increasing domination of the Old Firm? The seeming inability of Scottish clubs to keep abreast of modern-day football thinking and tactical techniques?
These humiliations in Europe involving our best teams outside of the Old Firm happen all too regularly. The gulf in tactical ability, basic skills and good old fashioned nouse between AZ and United last night was terrifyingly evident.
As Vladimir Ilich Lenin once asked, what is to be done?
