First 2 goals a direct result of a bizarre playing from the back routine which involves the centre half taking the by kick and playing it 2 yards backwards to de Gea who seems to be instructed to play a hospital pass to the most tightly marked player. Pretentious nonsense.

At this rate, Ten Cat won`t last 10 games. It`s far easier to sack the manager than a whole squad of overpaid, underperforming players.

Spoke too soon chaps. Drop Maguire and Ronaldo and United are a team again, good enough to beat last season`s CL finalists and the Dutch chappie is suddenly a great hero. Glad he didn`t drop McTominey. Liverpool 2 points from 3 games. Didn`t see that coming after winning the Charity Shield.

It can`t be that simple, Paralex. Man U deserved their win because the players who went out put in a real shift and the manager got his tactics spot on. That clearly wasn`t the case in the two previous league games. Let`s not blame it all on the two who were left out.

I wouldn`t think Ronaldo`s agent will have any trouble finding him another club, but Maguire may well be spending a lot of time warming the bench, this season.

On Ronaldo- he played well last season. His attitude was good and he scored goals. It’s therefore a conundrum that he did little or nothing to improve United as a team or United’s results. I can’t put my finger on why.

Would agree with that JnrB. Any premier team paying good money for Maguire would be seriously misguided. He might fit in somewhere in the championship but I think he`s had his day in the top league.

Ronaldo was a bit of a misfit from the start. I get the impression the other players thought he could win the games by himself so they failed to improve as a team. Rashford went completely of the boil for most of the season (maybe his political campaigning distracted him).

The first step to recovery is to identify the biggest weaknesses and get the team pulling together and playing as if their lives depended on it.
