I`m incredulous at Tuchel`s sacking. You can tell from the interviews he gives that he`s a top manager - probably just behind Pep and Klopp in the EPL.
Potter might be well advised to stay away from the job - it`s turning into a poisoned chalice. He may be ambitious however and manage a team which competes regularly in Europe, in which case he should get his agent to negotiate a very worthwhile, long term and foolproof contract,.

normally I would agree with you but it’s no longer the mental Russian that’s calling the shots and let’s be honest it was him who pulled the trigger on almost all of the managerial sackings during his time as Chelsea owner some poor results Last nights included will have had some bearing on them getting rid of him and also the carry on with conte as well
Come on ye pars ⚽️

To be fair, they have new owners and they didn`t appoint Tuchel. This is often what happens when new people take over.
Looks like Graham Potter is their man and they`re moving quickly to get him, which makes it look like it isn`t a knee-jerk reaction. I wonder if he`ll try and sign Billy Gilmour from Brighton?

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,

It`ll be a big step up from Kelty, but good luck to John if he gets it.

Thought some of their transfer business was a bit questionable this summer. Not sure if that`s Tuchel or the new owners though.
Not saying it`s right but I watched their game last night and they were really poor.
Chat in commentary last night was something like `Zagreb spent £5m in the summer, Chelsea spent £250m`.
It`s always hard for a manager to keep his job when teams with much less resource do better than them, as we know with the pars recently.

I don`t think they`ve done amazing transfer business personally - but having spent £250m, surely they back the manager who`s built that team.
Some of the buys are weird - Koulibaly is 31; still quality, but they aren`t getting a return on that investment. Aubameyang can be good, but has been off the boil since his big Arsenal contract and can be a pain in the dressing room. Sterling`s a great player, but not a centre forward. Cucurella seems overpriced, albeit young with potential.

Fair assessment that, plus they`ve lost Ruddiger, Alonso & Christiansen and Thiago Silva isn`t going to playing every week anymore at his age.
Always felt he had that pragmatic approach, a bit like Benitez, where defence came first so i too thought some of the defensive signings were a bit surprising.

Tuchel is a guy I can respect.
He believes player recruitment is his area and was the same reason he left Dortmund after a successful season finishing 2nd and a German cup win.
Chelsea like other clubs going down the route of players being headhunted by the owners rather than the people that actually know football.

If he had been Pars boss with the start Chelsea have had and the way they are playing there would be plenty on this forum wanting him out.

Reports suggesting Potter has shook hands on a deal to be the new manager
Paperwork being drawn up and he should be in the dugout for the Fulham game?
Interested to see how he fares. He`s done very well at Ostersunds and Brighton, with very little money.
His teams play football "the right way"

I think Klopp will certainly be afforded more time to turn things around than Tuchel was given. For one thing, he appears to be highly regarded by his players. He also delivered Liverpool`s first title win in 30 years - just repeat that last bit slowly.
When was it Liverpool went through a spell under Klopp and lost a series of games - at home - to the likes of Burnley and Fulham? He survived that so he`s well nigh bullet proof. 😃

Klopp is an excellent manager but i think Liverpool will be also rans this season - the team that took them to 90+ points in 3 out of 4 of the last seasons has aged and fragmented. Mane is a massive loss and Salah, though still top class, may not reach the standard he set over the last few years again. Henderson and Milner nearing 40. Klopp has surely earned the right to build another team to challenge for the top honours, but I do think he will need another team- the one that has excelled for the last 4/5 season has had it`s day.

Klopp has done a great job at Liverpool but it does seem something is not quite clicking this season - arguably a hangover from losing out on Prem and Champs League last season
Its always fun to read the `conspiracy thoerists` on fans forums
Mainz - 7 years
Dortmund - 7 years
Liverpool - entering 7th year
maybe there is a trend and this could be his time coming to an end !

From Aunty :-
Chelsea have appointed Graham Potter as their new manager following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.
Potter has left fellow Premier League club Brighton to take up the role and has signed a five-year deal with the Blues.
The 47-year-old said he was "incredibly proud and excited to represent Chelsea".
Potter`s first game in charge will be an away derby with fellow west London club Fulham on Saturday at 12:30 BST

I saw that, Bpp, and thought it was a nice touch. So often in football players and managers just move on with no apparent thought for the fans they leave behind.

Yes, that letter confirms that he is one of life`s good guys. In the majority of cases, managers moving to a bigger club do so without so much as a backward glance, never mind showing their appreciation for the club they`re leaving behind and its fans. I wish him well in his new surroundings, but I fear he may not be given the time to build something similar to what he did at Brighton.
Chelsea may be under new ownership but the new boss appears to be just like the old boss.... 🙁
