Confimred by SPFL.

NW already sold out, going to be epic in that wee stand.

sure these a display going up as well. Ive been advised that there will be some form of Pyrotechnics. Just incase anybody wants to move to the main stand.

Wonder if we will see any coming or goings in this time aswell.

Teams also given the option for a silence or to play the national anthem.

I for one would like the national anthem played. it would be a fitting tribute to the especially after becoming a city in the Queens honours.

I dont think it was enough. This would be a gathering in celebrations of her life. football is secondary at this point.

Rarely would i take any flags to the game but i feel it approprate to take my Union Jack, again in honour of the outgoing queen and the incoming King.

Long may they rule over us

Pyrotechnics I think you’ll find are banned in all Scottish stadiums i am sure your comments will be passed to both the club and Police Scotland. We don’t need to nor can afford to be fined for a few idiots planned behaviour.
Hopefully it’s nipped in the bud quickly by the club.

Just to say there`s still lots of tickets available for the North Stand in general. The young lads bit is sold out though.

Everybody has their way of showing respect, however, I do not feel that taking a Union Jack to the match is a very good idea. I also would be against the National Anthem etc, as I am quite sure that would end up a stramash of derision from certain factions of the crowd. My thoughts are leave it at our normal game as we respected the Queen by not having last week`s game.
I would like to say this is my opinion and I respect everyone is entitled theirs.

Just a shame these days Marv that either way you will get some hooligans trying to ruin a moment of reflection.

Anything for the 2 minutes of fame. And i agree that this all the correct ingredient to be blown into a full scale riot, a complete headache that it falls on the Grangemouth game as well.

What would Lizzie think of all this :(

If you must troll fellow Pars fans, at least leave out the gratuitous insults, dafc123. You obviously don`t know Row ZZ, otherwise you would not be calling him a muppet. He`s actually a good guy and a passionate Pars fan.

Perhaps your comment says more about you than him? 🤔

From a different viewpoint, my concern for Saturday, would be the fans in the North West jumping the wall and onto the park when we score. Can some of the more sensible/older fans in that section, have a quiet word with the younger ones about that.
By all means, sing, dance, banter, have the flags etc but just don`t go on the park.

With regards the aforementioned stuff, a minute`s silence would be more than sufficient. No need for the anthem at all.

Apologies, I didn`t see the posts further up. Have read them now I agree you it was provocative. I think you have misinterpreted ZZ`s post and consequently overreacted. He wasn`t implying there was something wrong with your brain, but that you should stop and think before posting - at least that`s how I see it. Calling someone you don`t even know a muppet is pretty inflammatory, imo and quite likely to get you into a fight in a pub. 🙁

Anyway, you`re both big enough and ugly enough 😉 to fight your own corner, so I`ll bow out now.

I`m guessing it`s not strictly legal to shout abuse, directed at other people - will it not come under the catch all "disturbance of the peace"?

At any rate, I`m sure you know perfectly well what I meant. We`re fortunate to live in a country where we can hold contrasting views and opinions, without fear of being arrested and locked up and held indefinitely without trial, or worse.....

As a republican I am glad that I won`t be there on Saturday. I would not be able to stay quiet or sing the GSTK song. I don`t even know why we still have to support the Gotha Saxe Coburg family, or indeed the deceased widow Mrs Battenburg.

How difficult is it to just remain seated during the minute`s silence and/or when they play GSTK? For the record, that is exactly what I`ll be doing.

It`s not mandatory to participate in these things, and it`s certainly not worth getting upset over.

If anyone is offended by those who choose not to pay their respects to the queen before Saturday`s game, I`m afraid that`s their problem.

It`s not a big deal. Let`s not make it one.

Is there anyone we can voice our concerns to over social media that can relay information to the DAFC hierarchy?

For what it`s worth, I`m a Republican and don`t believe in the monarchy, but I`ll still remain quiet and show respect to someone that has passed away, however if GSTK starts playing, I don`t think there will be many that will be happy with that and start booing and making noise about it, which the club really just don`t need as the fallout from that will result in some bad press. A minute silence is enough to show respect to the Queen, who is the the person that has passed away. I don`t feel there is any need for anything else.

Some folk are getting themselves into a right state. Honestly. And not just on this forum, either. Folk coming up from England and queuing for 5 hours to file past the coffin during the night. Police on duty everywhere, roads closed (son in law home at 12.30, building site closed because of road closures in Edinburgh.)

What is all the fuss about? An elderly lady has died. She was never surrounded by so much security when she was alive. DO the forces think someone is going to try and steal the body?

As for Ormiston`s post above - spot on. The club has enough smart people in place and they will try to avoid doing anything which will upset some fans, but doing nothing is not an option. The media would be all over it - not only that, some Pars fans would also be upset by the failure to "show respect" for the recently departed monarch.

So, not much chance we`ll be made to listen to GSTQ/K, but every chance we`ll be asked to observe a minute`s silence. I sincerely hope we don`t follow the lead of the moronic element in the Hearts support last Thursday. That would only heap shame and embarrassment on everyone connected with the Pars.

Bottom line is, whatever the club does, it can`t please everybody. 🙁

Great stuff Drew - please keep us updated.

I would imagine that a minute`s silence is more or less a given for Saturday, but I think (as mentioned above) quite a lot of people are keen to know whether or not the club intends to play the British national anthem before kick-off.

Personally, I don`t think there`s anything to be gained by doing so and I think it will only serve to encourage disruption. I think it`s also fair to say that all but one (perhaps two) of the 42 senior Scottish clubs would find themselves in exactly this position.

For me, the most sensible option would be to stick with just a minute`s silence.

A minute`s silence is fine - everyone is then free to privately contemplate whatever they want to.

And if it is quietly observed, as I hope and expect, it will give the lie to the leaders of our football organisations who didn`t trust supporters to behave respectably.

I don`t agree.

Silence allows everyone to think about whatever they want to, with nobody else knowing what it is.

With applause, those who don`t participate (or do so over-enthusiastically) stand out from the rest as individuals, defeating the idea of a collective act

And TBH I`m pretty sure most people of the Queen`s generation would understand and appreciate quiet contemplation rather than applause. Silence can be louder than noise.

A minutes applause is a complete no no.

I for one would not applaud.

But a minutes silence as said many times before allows everyone to do just that without anyone knowing if you really care about the monarchy or not.

It is without doubt the best option…..for all…

Personally I don`t think that`s too much to ask, no matter your political leanings.

Ormiston_par is spot on.

Wholeheartedly agree 👍

The minute / 2 minute silence is respectful. Why not, if anything play the Scottish national anthem? Scotland was a place close to the Queens heart. I thought it was a nice touch having the coffin draped with the lion rampant flag. I wouldn’t wish for any of our fans to get bad press by being disrespectful. I’m not a royalist by any means but respect where respect is due.

I thought it was a nice touch having the coffin draped with the lion rampant flag.

It wasn`t. It was draped in the Royal Standard, of which one quarter is the lion rampant (see below).

I think there`s zero chance of "Flower Of Scotland" being played, incidentally. That will only serve to draw attention and negative publicity towards the club, and it could very well create as much disruption inside the ground as GSTK would. It`s just not worth the hassle.

As I said above - I only hope common sense prevails. By all means, have a minute`s silence and let those who wish to observe it do so. Those who don`t can either come in late or remain seated.

If everyone engages their brain, there`s absolutely no reason why anyone should be criticised or vilified for how (or if) they pay their respects.

Wrong !
The flag on the coffin WAS the Scottish version .
It had the lion rampant Iin 2 of the 4 quadrants .
You showed the United Kingdom version .

It has not been hijacked at all. A big part of the game and all games being on in Scotland is what the protocol will be to pay respect to the Queen. There are differing opinions that are worthy of discussion.

Correct, I did. Regardless, the coffin was not draped in the lion rampant as had been stated - it was draped in the Royal Standard (the Scottish variant thereof).

So.....not "Wrong!" as you gleefully leapt to point out.....more like "not quite 100% accurate" :-)

Except I wasn`t wrong about the fact it was a Royal Standard rather than a Lion Rampant - I was only wrong about which variant of the Royal Standard it was. Semantics.

In any event...hardly a big deal, is it? I only posted about the flag because I felt it might be an interesting point of conversation. You on the other hand seem to be pursuing some kind of one-upmanship...

I`m beginning to remember why I stopped posting on here previously.

I asked a life long friend of mine, who is a ST holder at Parkhead, how come the GB always appear to be so well represented at Celtic games where tickets are limited. He told me ST holders who apply have first dibs. Many of the GB are ST holders and those who aren`t can get others to apply for tickets for them. My pal also said that the GB are an utter disgrace but no doubt they`ll come up with an explanation for their appalling banner.

That's just not true, Salton.

The "good upstanding Celtic supporters" were rightly appalled by that display, but no doubt there were others who admire the GB for their antiroyal stance. I'd make Celtic play their next CL game behind closed doors. That might encourage the club to take action to weed out those so-called fans who bring shame on their club and country.

It might not have been the worst example, Grant, but unless some really tough measures are introduced these idiots will continue to act with impunity. Celtic FC have done little more than issue mealy mouthed pleas about how the GB`s actions damage the reputation and good name of the club but it`s not so much in one ear and out the other, but in one ear and out of both.....

Closing the stadium for the next CL game would send the GB a clear and unequivocal message that their behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Not disagreeing that the GB have had unacceptable behaviour, and plenty of it. However that banner alone isn`t worthy of a mealy mouthed statement, let alone a stadium closure.

UEFA clearly believe the banner is far more offensive than you think, Grant.

I`m no flag waving royalist, but that banner was totally unnecessary and an embarrassment not only to Celtic FC but to Scotland and Scots in general. There are plenty of dignified ways to show opposition to the monarchy and that`s not one of them.j

There was no need for such a strong-worded banner like that. They could have just waited until the first game after the funeral and had a banner saying “Not My King” or something, because at the end of the day a person has just died and that’s in bad taste no matter your views. Even Johnny Rotten is taking no royalties, excuse the parlance, from God Save the Queen’s prominence in this period of time.

The club will get panned in the media if it doesn`t fall into line with all the other clubs and mark the occasion respectfully, whatever our views are. And any disrespectful behaviour will attract even more criticism.

They did however open the 5th section at the end nearest the main stand which is now pretty much sold out.
