When you join is this an additional £20 per month you are signing up for or is this taking over from the lifeline? Not very clear imo

Just re read it. No change apart from a re branding of the name.

While the term lifeline has been dropped from the name, as I read it the main change is that CC funds raised will be focused on supporting the youth development academy. The article also indicates they are looking at additional perks and value that can be given to CC supporters.

Is there any way of changing the rules to improve my chances of winning a prize? If my arithmetic is correct, based on the financial information on COWS, there has been an average of around 830 members a season since the relaunch in 2013. I think there are 6 prizes awarded at each home game so that`s 6 x 18 x 9 = 972 prizes (although the prize structure may have been different in the earlier years). That seems to offer good odds of winning a prize over 9 years but I have won zilch! Has anyone on here been successful (maybe more than once!)?

I`ve just worked out that anyone who has contributed continuously since the relaunch has donated over £2,000 to the club`s coffers!

😊😊😊

Is this funding not part of our running budget now?

EET, part of the re-brand is to drop the term `Lifeline` as it has served that purpose. The funds raised are now going to be directed towards the development of the Academy.

Far be it from me to suggest that these schemes only work when the vast majority of participants are perpetually disappointed! Though that is surely mitigated by the knowledge of contribution to the club, and that weekly pique of excitement when checking the winner names before the inevitable doldrums :)

You think a prize draw should be fixed ?

Gotcha.

It should be though, I`ve still not won and could do with the money.

I stand to be corrected, but as we are dealing with rare events I would expect that the distribution of the proportions of people who have won a prize at different frequencies over a given time period is likely to follow a Poisson statistical distribution.

In recent years five cash prizes of £200 have been handed out at each home game. However in some of the early years sometimes up to eight prizes have been given out per draw (with prizes of differing amounts). In one case, one lucky member won £3,000 in a draw. I think they also had a draw for a car in the early days. Looking through the COWS records, up to and including the Kelty game, and ignoring the non-cash prizes such as signed footballs, shop vouchers, boardroom passes, Knockhill vouchers, lucky hampers etc. I make it there have been at least 619 different cash prizes awarded in at least 123 different cash draws (averaging 5.03 cash prizes per draw). If the record on COWS is incomplete or I have missed some by mistake the true number of cash prize winners will of course have been higher. If one were to assume that the average number of memberships over the period was say 900, that would give an expected win probability per draw/membership of 0.56% and an average expected number of cash wins/membership over the period to date of 0.6878. Under a Poisson distribution, with 900 memberships, one would statistically expect about half of the memberships (50.27%) to have not won anything yet, with just over a third having won once (34.57%) and almost an eighth winning twice (11.89%). There is only a small proportion of memberships that will have won more than twice per membership. The chances of winning cash prizes three, four or five times to date (assuming 900 memberships) are estimated at 2.73%, 0.47% and 0.06% respectively.

Of course, people that pay for more than one membership increase their chances of winning.

I also projected forward for 10 years at the current prize draw rate. If one keeps things simple and excludes any additional League Cup and Friendly lucky prizes/vouchers; then over the decade there would be a total of 180 draws and 1,080 cash/boardroom prizes (5 cash + 1 boardroom per draw). Assuming 900 memberships, this would give an average number of £200/boardroom pass wins/membership over the decade of 1.2. This translates to probabilities of any one membership number winning £200/boardroom passes 0,1,2,3,4,5 and 6 times over the next ten years of 30.12%, 36.14%, 21.69%, 8.67%, 2.60%, 0.62% 0.12% respectively with chances of any membership winning 7+ times being very very small. Thus around 70% of memberships are likely to win at least once over the next ten years, and slightly more people will win twice or more (33.74%) than the number who don`t win anything.

Thus the fact that some of you have been unlucky and not yet won anything so far is to be expected; just as one would also expect some luckier people to have won on two or more occasions (especia

I was a member since the beginning and have won nothing. Always chuckled at the same names appearing three or four times. I cancelled my standing order last season as personally was an expense I didn`t need but will look to re-join again maybe in the new year.

Waiting on the website being updated.

For those convinced of foul play, all the names are published so you can see if someone always wins. If they do, might it be they have more than one membership? Maybe adults taking ones out for kids too or simply because they have the cash to spare?

How do you get a login to the cclifeline.co.uk site?

Won the 50-50 once - a couple of years ago, and last win of anything else was back in 1988 when I won 500 quid at the 2-0 rangers cup game

It was really strange - i knew it was the day of the £2500 quarterly draw…
I was working on turnstiles and didn’t hear the tannoy announcement.
My brother came bouncing around, delightedly telling me I had won

WOOHOOOOO two and a half grand yayayaya

I was actually disappointed for a few moments when he told me I won the weekly draw for £500 :-D
