Saying media is offline on my laptop, and could not load the manifest file and make sure CORS support is enabled on my tv. What does that all mean?

Hello. I am looking at a box on screen telling me that you are aware of a problem but expect to sort it in a moment. Nothing has happened since
I don`t even have a stream at all despite logging on successfully and paying my £8.

Brian. There is nothing OK about nothing happening. What is meant to happen after my payment was acknowledged?

Brian is probably on the ParsTV chat. Have you logged in on the ParsTV site?

Stuart,
I`ve just seen your comment again.
wasn`;t sure you had an issue or just waiting for it to restart (which it did before kick off.

can you check the View Stream link now on home page.

if the stream goes off, then we usually know about it but if there is still an issue please get backonto support chat

Seems another dodgy stream tonight? Brian- our stream seems less reliable than most from home games. Any thoughts? Are other clubs using better equipment, have they invested in better broadband or what?

appreciate the issue before kick off with the stream stopping was very inconvenient,
but got it started in time for kick-off.

Just a general view based on something like 8 years of watching pars TV that our stream still seems less reliable than others, although to be clear it has improved a lot in that time. I`d be interested in the pars TV team view on any further investments.that would bring the service up to the level of our peers, as we seem to have a few regular viewers and subscribers, so would be good to invest in the service.

Camera work was very jumpy throughout tonight, made it difficult to watch.
I agree with the comment above, the regular issues with pars TV means the club needs to invest. This is an income stream for the club and people who pay good money deserve a good product.

I am looking into the system to undertsand what were the issues last night.

I`ve checked a few people and they all had stable streams from around 19:42 to 19:48

I probably hadn`t communicated very well that I had sorted the issue before kick off.

dd23 I see you had been trying multiple browsers and frequent resets. can you try just doing a reset next time and leaving the stream to stabilise on your browser.

DAFCinBK can you drop me an email so I can check your stream stability from my end.

thanks

Hi Brian. Whenever I tried it on my smart tv it froze after around 10 seconds and never came back. I tried streams A and B but both the same. The only way I could watch it was on my laptop and as I said the picture was very jumpy which made it difficult to watch.

ah right, OK I understand now about the different browsers
(sorry, I forgot you mentioned SmartTV)

what laptop and browser were you using.

the original issue was i tried to setup a second 480p stream (lower resolution) to allow for a backup and I think it caused an issue. I resolved things by creating a new stream, and generally after that it was fine.

Using a Microsoft surface pro with chrome. I gave up with the tv at the start of the second half having tried it a few times in the first half.

After the initial problem with the feed was sorted just before kick-off my stream worked well for the match last night. A while back I once tried watching ParsTV direct from my Smart TV but it didn’t work. Streaming from Chrome on my laptop via an HDMI cable on a fibre internet connection has been working well. One thing that could be improved is to try to get the voice levels for Jordan and Raymie (or other co-commentator) at the same level. Quite often one is very much louder than the other.

Rhino,
thanks for feedback.

I thought yesterday I had the levels about right, however, trying to listen live during the match in the gantry is not often ideal so perhaps we need to sort that issue.
We will need to get someone offsite listening to help us with the output levels

Brian - the sound levels were just about right for the last match. I was just making a generic comment about the service in general over the season. I maybe should have made it clearer - I am still watching on a Smart TV but via an HDMI cable to a laptop, rather than trying to stream from the TV itself.

thanks Rhino, I did think I had the audio tuned better on Saturday, but you are right we have had issues due to cabling.

to be fair though, I brought in Noise Cancelling headphones which helped tremendously while listening to the audio levels :o)

also, we had two Content Delivery Networks previously and I feel the SmartTV`s worked better on that system. They wanted $8,000 to renew the contract.

some other clubs have fixed facilities while we have to setup each match so sometimes it can be problematic. setting up a studio would be ideal and help us all. We had planned on that just before Covid and should be looked at again. However, in League 1 there are higher priorities.

not trying to make excuses but my bones on a cold and wet day don`t help ;o)
