Haven`t been to Airdrie Excelsior for many years. I take it there will be a pay at the gate option. Weather permitting if course. I reckon it was a grass pitch last time I was there. Is it still grass or plastic?

I went there around 2000 for a midweek Livy game and it was cancelled at the last minute due to freezing conditions, it wasn’t the pitch but the stairs inside that had ice and were deemed to dangerous. With snow forecast to fall on Friday onto frozen ground I am waiting to purchase my tickets.

Forecast is for the first day in 13 days above zero on Friday of 2c rain, will definitely freeze on contact to the ground much like we had on Sunday across Dunfermline, with a zero overnight forecast. So Airdrie will need to do a lot of work with salt to make the game on.

We`ve had a fair bit of snow here in Dunfermline, which is outside the BBC`s yellow warning area - Errdrie is smack bang in the middle of it. 🙁

Yes that is true but it is also due to the weather thats caused the damage and Dundee have also requested a pitch inspection tomorrow for their game so it looks like many fixtures could be in doubt

It`s not just the pitch though is it, Correct me If I`m wrong but the area outside the ground is huge and if that`s covered in snow and cars can`t get out safely then that could cause the game to be off

It’ll be off if anything like the underfoot conditions in Alloa which are treacherous to say the least!
Even if the pitch is playable from a fan safety perspective can’t see this bring on.

Unfortunately Falkirk pulled it back yesterday as that would have been our preferred option but I presume the Airdrie game will been rescheduled for the 18th Feb. Which would mean we play them back to back weekends.

The free week is the 11th, but yes I think you’re right that might be the case and would mean we play them away then home the following week.
I’d imagine this will also mean the Falkirk game will now be midweek.
