Really hope the game is on tomorrow, especially with the build up of fixtures. Don’t think Partick will have the heating on & with temperatures still low what are the chances of this actually going ahead? Will wait to buy tickets just in case but will probably expect a pitch inspection at least.

Don`t think there will be a need for an inspection. Temperature today is 4/5 degress with overnight temperatures not expecting to go below 0 in Glasgow.

I think last season Thistle’s pitch was a tattie field and bare and rutted to the point the game would probably be in doubt . They relaid the pitch in summer and it is supposed to be a lot better this season so hopefully should be ok

With just over 24 hours to go until kick-off in our Scottish Cup tie against @officialdafc, there are no concerns with the Firhill pitch.
The undersoil heating system has been in operation since Wednesday with the covers scheduled to be lifted tomorrow morning.
Taken from Thistles Twitter, buzzing for it now. Can see a victory on the cards!

Are we going to get an announcement from PT one way or the other or do we just assume there is no problem with the pitch?

I think Dundee explained that they have a burst pipe under their playing surface which they cannot access without digging up the pitch.

why do you want to get hundreds of people calling the stadium ?
I`m sure they will keep you informed as best they can.

This was on PT`s Facebook yesterday, so doubt they will make any more announcements.

With just over 24 hours to go until kick-off in our Scottish Cup tie against Dunfermline Athletic FC, there are no concerns with the Firhill pitch.
We can confirm that the undersoil heating system has been in continuous operation since Wednesday. Pitch protection measures had already been taken with the utilisation of pitch covers since early this week which protected the surface ahead of the frosty spell over the last few days.
The undersoil heating will remain on through to Saturday, with the pitch covers lifted on Saturday morning to ensure no issues with the surface for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie.
The surrounding areas at Firhill will be treated, if required, to ensure a safe and clear arrival for all spectators attending tomorrow’s fixture with Dunfermline Athletic.

All it takes I`d for one person to call the stadium and post it on here...didn`t mean everyone call the stadium, wow let`s all bombard partick with a phone call, with the weather being the way it has a simple statement saying games on or off, either on twitter or where ever, but let`s have a post with, I wonder if it`s on every two minutes.....lol hundreds calling partick.

You could have done us all a favour and made the call, Dafc1996!
It`s actually quite difficult to find out about today`s SC games. It`s an SFA competition but there`s no mention there of postponements and inspections although I believe the tie at Cove was called off early. The BBC site doesn`t list their match, presumably because it`s off!

I`ve just tested the grass in my back garden (2 miles from Firhill). No frost on top. Will take a stud. Light rain at the moment. Three degrees Celcius. Don`t see any reason for the game to be off.

Cheers, dpard. It seems the BBC just drop SC matches off the fixtures list once they are postponed but in other competitions they list all matches and mark them as `postponed`.

As I don`t live in Glasgow I had no idea what overnight conditions were like there but Paralex has given reassurance that all is fine.

Dave Mackay wasn`t very complimentary about the pitch in his post-match interview.
