 Some Stats
Topic Originator: Football_Par

We just finished game 7 in the 3rd quarter

1st quarter

After 7 games: 15pts After 9 Games 19pts

2nd quarter

After 7 games: 16pts After 9 Games 20pts

3rd Quarter

After 7 Games: 17pts

So pts wise this is our best quarter so far and we are well on course to finish 79/80 pts which will win the league easily.

It’s good to see that we’re getting luckier. These teams below us who are better must be seething at our good fortune.

I wouldn`t say we are getting luckier. We have definitely been fortuitous that apart from Falkirk everyone else has taken points off each other.

Stats don`t lie if you see my post on the other post the league table is crazy below us.

c'mon the pars

If we`re more consistent than the teams below us how are we fortuitous? Some folk seem to think it`s only praiseworthy if you win a league that`s competitive which seems to mean every team has approximately the same number of points. Tell that to the fans of clubs who have dominated leagues throughout Europe for years.

Exactly. Every league is the same. The teams at the top are more consistent than the teams below them. That’s how leagues work. League 1 is no different to the other leagues in Scotland in this respect.

If you read the full sentence I said along the lines of we are fortuitous that other teams have taken points off each other. This has given us space to clear from the pack by getting draws instead of defeats and wins instead of draws. Which the league shows from FCE down the others haven`t managed. I have never mentioned anything about wanting to dominate the league although I'd actually say only 1 defeat is pretty decent.

c'mon the pars

Oh man, don`t tell me it`s one of those leagues where the teams at the top are most consistent, the teams in the middle take points off each other and the teams at the bottom lose the most. Hate those leagues. Complete lottery.

Other teams in the league have to play each other. This inevitably results in other teams taking points off of each other. It is the same in every league worldwide. That’s not ‘fortuitous’. That’s just how things work. As others have said, every single league in the world has teams at the top that win more than others, teams in the middle that ‘take points off each other’ and teams at the bottom that lose more than everyone else.

We are where we are because, up to this point, we have been more consistent than the other teams and have found a way to win more games than them.

---------------------------------

Got Alloa and Falkirk to finish 3rd quarter - two mighty tough games.

And I think Falkirk are capable of getting over 80 points the way they`re going. so can`t see it being won easily by either us or them.

To get over 80 points Falkirk will need to get 30 points from their last 11 games. That`s not impossible but it`s a big ask.

Why do so many Pars` fans have more confidence in the form of the opposition than that of their own team? Not that it matters, as it`s the attitude of the players and management staff that will count and they`ve been defying the grim forecasts of their imminent downfall all season.

Living out in the Falkirk area and working with some of there fans, they are not entirely confident of beating us in either game. They are not playing well too by there statements. What I think is that we will go up as champions but they’ll come up via the play offs

We play each other twice so don`t think that can happen.

Falkirk in good form right now but they still aren`t top. If they continue this form and beat us they`ll rightly win the league

We play each other twice so that can happen.

Lose one against the other, win the other 10 games.
