When the Pars TV commentators were considering MOM, there was no mention for him, but he stopped a certain goal by racing out to dive at the feet of one of their players. Everything he did showed confidence. Did what he had to do well and was alert to that moment - if he hadn`t been, it could have changed the game. Well done again to our Deniz Mehmet, and it`s now 19? clean sheets this season.

Totally agree. And when you recall the pelters he got last season he`s deservedly gone from zero to hero. Mind you, having a solid defence helps a lot.

Completely agree. His decision making is very good, which is a big change from last season. Credit goes to Alan Main and the new GK coach, they’ve clearly worked well with him. But obviously most of the credit to Deniz who has undoubtedly won us many points, along with his defenders, with the clean sheets we’ve kept.

The case of Mehmet shows how a settled back 5 including keeper is huge for building confidence and going from strength to strength. Early last season when PG was chopping and changing defence nearly every game Mehmet was all over the place as he had no idea how fellow defenders would react to situations and communication was dreadful. This season with a fairly settled back line they look strong as they can anticipate each others reactions most of time and are confident with each other. Arguably a settled keeper and centre back triangle is the base for any successful team.

Sorry guys but he doesn’t fill me with confidence he’s a bit ropey and flappy and apart from tonight when he raced to the edge of his box he’s a bit static in his goals but fair play to him and our defence they’ve had a great season

His distribution tonight was class as well. He commanded that penalty area with confidence.

Excellent tonight. Was so quick off his line and commanded his area superbly. He didn`t have to make any world class saves but he was so alert. Great to see him getting the last laugh with the Falkirk fans at full time too!

Good goalie, good guy.

Good tonight and a decent keeper at this level. Need a better keeper if we go up though imo

We have played 3 games this season against Championship sides and in those games he has played well. In two of those games the silly mistakes have come from our captain and I don’t see anyone suggesting that about him.

Mehmet is easily Championship standard. He has been rock-solid all season and seems comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Has been a shining light this season could be more commanding with crosses is my only criticism. 19 clean sheets. We’ve got Deniz Mehmet in goals🎼

His confidence has grown and he is impriving every game. Easily good enough for next season in my view.

He probably wasn`t considered for MOM because he didn`t actually have too much to do, which is a compliment to the lads in front of him?
Most of the time, it was fairly routine - coming for crosses and one comfortable save from Oliver.
It's bloody tough being a legend

Keeping hold of Mehmet will be the challenge - rather than trying to punt him for someone better.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Didn`t someone say he is currently our highest wage earner and I think he is out of contract in the summer.
Hopefully he will be able to agree a new contract that works for both him and the club.
Does anyone have a list of the those players out of contract in the summer, or the players who are under contract and when those contracts run to. Edwards/Chalmers signed extensions recently but must still be a fair few whose contracts end in the summer

Out of contract in the summer:
Mehmet
Breen
Comrie
MacDonald
O’Hara
Wighton
Todorov
Obviously all loanees due to leave as well. Other contracts are:

Thanks par-91.
Hopefully we`ll be looking to sign most of those out of contract on extended contracts. Mehmet, Breen, Comrie, MacDonald and Wighton.
Possibly up front the big area where we may need to upgrade, so maybe try and get a couple of others in to replace Todorov and O`Hara.

For me it also needs to be taken into account that this is Deniz’s 1st full season as a number 1 keeper. Prior to this season he had played at most 9 league games in a season back in 2016/17.
With the improvement he has shown throughout his time here I cannot understand why some wouldn’t trust him in the championship. Been quality this season and his love for the club is clear. New contract should 100% be offered at the very least. At 30 he’s still got plenty to give and imo will still improve with more games and experience.
