Just an early warning. It’s has been snowing heavy all week so far up here in peterhead. And has started again tonight. Keep an eye on the conditions for the weekend if you are traveling as the conditions have been horrendous on the roads.
It is due to warm up the next couple of days keep an aye on the roads

At £10 for a 15 year old Peterhead has to be the most expensive ticket in the league, so I had a look at the other prices I had paid
Airdrie - £2
Alloa - £4
Clyde - £4
Edinburgh - £0 (I only went the first game I think it cost me £5)
Falkirk- £6
Kelly - £7
Montrose - £8
Peterhead - £10
Queen of the South - £5
The challenge cup games were £5, I can’t see what I paid for the Scottish cup games.
Then I was shocked to see we are charging £14, U12 are £6, is this really the price or am I missing something?
[Edit- Just checked and i bought him the 5 match Scotland match package including the England game for £50!

It`s meant to get as low as -2 tonight and -3 on Friday. Assuming that`s correct and there is 3-5 inches of snow on the pitch, the prospects of this going ahead are slim?

Weather forecast for Peterhead on the BBC is that the temperature won`t fall below zero for the rest of the week and sleet showers should end early on Friday morning although they will return on Saturday evening.

Just spoke again to a guy at Balmoor. They are definitely having an inspection tomorrow. Awaiting confirmation from SPFL regarding the time but they are aiming for as early as possible.
The ground isn`t frozen but it is covered in snow and they`re trying to get that cleared. Trouble is, there`s a lot of it.
That`s the word direct from Peterhead FC.

I’m actually working at Balmoor today and we helped club to clear snow from pitch. Snow blanket protected against worst of frost and grass underneath is very wet and pitch heavy . A sharp frost tonight may cause issues . Talking to one of the staff they reckon it’s touch and go but 8 am inspection tomorrow

On the other hand K76, they might still be buzzing from Tuesday night and dying to get out there again for the next instalment. Our way form has been great so far. It may be a bit unsettling if they have it in the back of their minds that the game may be off.

Could it pass with the stipulation that the light snow is cleared as the ground isn’t actually frozen?

Damn. Had a chance to go 11 points clear and put more pressure on Falkirk.
However we have won every rearranged LEAGUE game so that’s a bonus.

Disappointed for it not to go ahead, good opportunity to ride the wave a little and take the euphoria from the Falkirk game into Peterhead and secure the three points and whittle another game off the season. Had we done that, 11 points ahead would really hurt Falkirk irrespective of the game in hand they would’ve had.
On the other hand, it’s also a good opportunity to reset, get rid of a couple of niggles that were picked up during the Falkirk game, also a week now for Comrie which isn’t a bad thing.
We’ve been really good at adapting to games called off this season, just need to shift our attention to FC Edinburgh. On paper, the most difficult home game we have left.
The way the fixtures have landed this last quarter, couldn’t have asked for a more difficult away schedule. Airdrie, Falkirk, Montrose all away. Falkirk look to be the other way round with only Montrose on paper looking like a tricky one.

In truth, I am delighted with this postponement. It is Saturday evening here in Oz, and I have had a thoroughly enjoyable day playing the Killers and the Floyd very loudly on my stereo, with friends popping round while I have been building a new bookcase in my sitting room. I have averaged one bottle of beer with every shelf that I have completed and right now, I am extremely cheerful...
From where I stand, my work looks magnificent... in fact, a triumph!
I think I have overdosed on the Pars this week,TBH, so a bit of off-time is welcome and probably very healthy.
Instead, I shall spend the evening here filling these lovely new shelves with my favourite books and authors... my pretty sizeable collection of Lonely Planet country guides, Gore Vidal, William Boyd, Christopher Hitchens, Bill Bryson, John Pilger, Martin Amis, the poems of Robert Service, Rabbie Burns and William McGonagall... to name but a few.
I hope that you all have a similarly enjoyable day-off from all things Pars...
:)
