This game should be an opportunity to give Allan and McGowan some badly-needed game time and maybe Crombie too if he has recovered sufficiently from his injury. Are the loanees eligible for this one?

Just checked; Mochrie and KRH played in the last tie against Dundee. JMcP may not want to risk them in this one though.

Looks like the winner plays Kilmarnock in the final. They are 3-0 up in the 1st half.Dundee United were only able to name 3 subs in that game.

Thanks for the tip-off - I`d have missed this game otherwise
This was a comfortable win in the end, once we got going, but we didn’t have it all our own way.
I guess it was a typical reserve team – a mixture of young lads, fringe players and semi-regular starters. We lined up in what may be best described as a 4-3-Tod-1 formation – Little in goals, Hoggan, McLeod, Otoo and Fenton along the back, Allan and McGowan in midfield, O’Hara wide right and McCann wide left (although they kept swapping), Todorov through the middle, and Andew Tod popping up all over the pitch.
We seemed a little disjointed to begin with – I felt the younger lads might have been a bit tentative having the senior players in the side and we had to survive any number of corners without looking overly stressed. Todorov missed a good chance before O’Hara scored – he got to the byline at pace, kept the ball in play and managed to regain it and crash it in off the post from a tight angle.
The second came from a quick corner on the left – Otoo hadn’t quite come up from the back, but he got himself in the right position for a tap-in after Allan took the ball along the byeline and cut back. The third was a similar finish – Todorov spread it to Taylor Sutherland on the left who beat his man and the centre-back turned the centre past his own keeper under pressure from Tod.
Little made a couple of good saves – one in particular looked to be heading into the top corner, McLeod looked very composed at RCB which I don’t think is his usual position, and the Sutherland brothers looked to have good close control – obviously they know each other’s game but there was one glorious move late on which involved Tod as well where they seemed to know instinctively where each other would be. Good for Allan and McGowan to get some (more) game time under their belts – they could be key players in the run in.

Strange one. I’d have thought a neutral venue would make most sense. Airdrie, Livi or Falkirk the obvious choices. But there’s a plethora of plastic pitches in the lower leagues, I can’t see why we haven’t used one of them. Reserve football or not, no team should have ‘home advantage’ in a cup final.

It`s a reserve cup final. Having it somewhere neutral - where no-one would turn up - seems a bit counterproductive.

Oh no it`s not, Paralex. There are any number of Fifers who will inform you quite categorically that there`s a West Coast bias. 😃 You`ve been away from the Kingdom for too long.
I once accompanied a pupil to a trial match for Scotland schoolboys. A guy with a Glaswegian accent was standing near me on the touchline. He kept saying things like. "Who`s that No. 4? Great pass, No 4." Etc. Etc. Those selecting the final squad were also standing within earshot. Turned out he was a teacher and the No 4 was a pupil in the same school.
The No 4 was picked, the lad I accompanied wasn`t. 🙁 Lesson learned.

Maybe you didn`t shout out for your boy enough GG. I did have a trial for Glasgow Schoolboys myself and scored the only goal of the trial match but the centre forward in the other team, who was being talked up before the game, was the one selected. Maybe I still had my Fife accent. Lots of nepotism and every other ism at play. But here I am getting into conspiracy theories myself. Probably just a chip on the shoulder.

Is there likely to be a livestream of the match on Pars TV or Killie TV, or whatever it is called? I am sure there would be a lot of interest in this...

I didn`t shout at all, Paralex. 🙁 Too green to realise what was going on. My lad had a decent career all the same. He played over 450 games for various clubs in the second tier of English football. No idea who the great No. 4 was or if he made it in senior football.
