I would expect in a lot of years one of the big boys` B teams would win this new Conference League - does that mean that Club 42 would escape the play-off, or would the best "real" club in the Conference League get into the play-off? If not, that would explain why the current League Two clubs are keen to have it introduced ASAP.
And could the B teams be relegated to the Lowland/Highland League? (Hearts B team finished 13th out of 19 in this season`s Lowland League.)
Presumably this would be slotted in above the Lowland League and the Highland League, which would continue but be shorn of their best clubs? It would mean one more rung in the ladder to climb for ambitious Junior clubs turning senior, before they get a crack at SPFL League Two.
Really we`re going back towards the post-war Division C, where the reserve teams from Division A clubs played against the senior minnows of the time (Brechin, Berwick etc).
