Keep the bluebell polka far far away - a dirge.
While we’re at it, if we insist on goal music, mix it up. Let the players decide what their goal song should be.

Coming from you, that’s a compliment 🤣
Ok wrong word used - dirge, strike it from the record and humblest apologies to anyone outraged furious and or upset (although I did hear it being played at a funeral so, you know….). I always hated that tune win lose or draw, trooping out the stadium with that nonsense in your ears, give me a break. No surprise the folk defending it on here are middle aged and auld men 😉
As for the goal music being sponsored, I’ve read the story about it all, but it’s time for change I think. Of course I’d much prefer none; but that’s no going to happen in these modern times so let’s shake it up a bit. I repeat, what do the players and wider fan base think? If there were to be a poll on it, “Glad all over” I doubt would score highly.
To be fair though, I Suppose all these are moot points until the club sort out the atrocious sound system.

"outraged furious and upset"
Try "mildly disagree" but not that much that I might suggest standing up in public saying I want to get rid of a song and looking like a right walloper in front of the manager and CEO

Far too many traditional stuff has been lost in the modern game - some thankfully, others not so.
Bluebell Polka should stay imo .
As for the goal music - I`m not really a fan of it either but it is sponsored, I believe, by one of our disabled fans.
I don`t think it would be fair to get rid of it altogether, but could maybe mix it in with other tunes.

With the noise that comes from the North West these days, we should do away with music when we score, I always think it ruins the celebrations, far better to have the roar of the crowd, and see if that then naturally generates a song from the fans

Your response of “you haven’t got a clue” is hardly “mildly disagree”. My post was in response to someone else’s suggestion to bring it back, so are they the person you want to be name calling as well?
Why not take this to the wider fan base, say part of a survey to the season ticket holders?
(I mean the debate about music for end of the game and goals, not da_no_1’s walloperness) 😉

The Bluebell Polka, played by Jimmy Shand (Fifer Extraordinaire) is a very jaunty little number, which win lose or draw helps to make our exit from the stadium more enjoyable. Especially after a victory I find myself marching in step with the tune onto Halbeath Road as the tune slowly fades into the background. Excellent wee tune.

On the goal music I`d rather have nothing than `Glad all over`, feels very dull to me but that`s just a personal preference.
Why was the permission on the artificial delayed? Frustrating it seems to be moving along so slowly but I understand that in the current climate.

The catering offering at EEP is pretty poor tbh, especially in the main stand where it feels like a bake sale in a community centre.

Agreed.
The NW is very much the poor relation when it comes to facilities. As well as being inadequate for general use, the single toilet cubicle is the only suitable toilet for ambulant disabled fans or those with invisible disabilities. Not good enough.

Really enjoyed that last night. David, James and Dave all came across brilliantly. They were so patient (as some of the questions seemed to go on forever!) and went through every answer in depth. A lot of good banter (but not over the top like previous managers) and very interesting to hear them go through what they have to deal with. It was good to hear them talk about strengths and weaknesses of individual players and how they try to improve them.
Loved the point the gentleman who does Pars Review (don`t know his name) made about how one of the proudest moments this season was the 1-1 draw away to Airdrie as it showed how much the players cared to keep the unbeaten run going. Agreed with every point he made and imagine he spoke for nearly every fan.
Amazing to see such a feel good factor again. I hate getting ahead of myself but I feel extremely positive for next season, especially with all three of these men in charge.

Buffy asked if I would explain what I said last night. I hadn`t realised I spoke in Italian.... 😃
• Great season on and off the pitch.
• Schools Engagement programme started in 2014. Stopped in March 2020 because of Covid.
• David Cook keen to re-start it. James McPake bought into it.
• Dave Dawson organises 2 initiatives. Business Management presentation for High School pupils. Stadium tours for primary kids. Problems for schools out with walking distance from EEP, as private transport costs are extortionate.
• Wullie Oliphant delivers Pars Stars, an all day literacy initiative, in local primary schools. The afternoon features a coaching session from the Pars Foundation given by Iain Philp, Ryan Graham and Stevie Tucker. 733 pupils had benefited from this up to the end of March. Wullie is on course to hit 1000 by the end of June.
• Pars Tackle Health is run jointly by Sandy Wyse and I. The initiative relies on Pars players visiting local primary schools to talk to pupils about making good lifestyle choices which will hopefully enable them to live a long, happy and healthy life. Dave Mackay organises the player rota. Every player has been in at least 2 schools - some in 3. Everyone has totally bought in to the aims of the initiative. The 3 Pars Foundation coaches also attend these visits and provide a games session for participating pupils. Stats for this season;
18 schools visited.
22 players involved
41 classes participated
1064 children engaged and countless autographs signed. 🙂
A large proportion of these kids who are interested in football list Rangers or Celtic as their favourite team. Hopefully, the different initiatives we are running will bear fruit and we`ll get some extra Pars fans each season.

GG the sound from the mic was quite muffled not just for your turn but for others as well. There were quite a few questions I didn’t pick up and I was only sitting a few feet away, as you know.
DRR - the link for the live updates for the meeting last night is at the top of this forum (and on the live updates section near the bottom of the home page). it will probably take a few mins to upload but if you read it from the bottom of the page first it will make more sense.

I was just pulling yer leg, Buffy. 🙂 I realise I may not have sounded too clear as for some reason I felt quite tense when I was give the mic - a bit like a player having to wait too long to take a pen.... 🤔
A couple of points. We try and get to as many schools as we can. We`ve been from Kincardine to Ballingry and Kelty to Aberdour and all the towns and villages in between, but mainly in and around Dunfermline. Players are available on one afternoon per week during the season, which puts a limit on how many schools we can visit. This season, for various reasons, we couldn`t start until after the October holidays, which meant a further restriction. Wullie O and Dave D don`t need players so they can keep going until the end of June and they are. Sandy and I are a couple of part timers... 😃
Thanks for all the kind comments. We all love running these different initiatives and it doesn`t cost the participating schools a single penny.
Btw, it`s not "my" team. We`re all in it together - the players, Dave Mackay, James McPake, David Cook, the Pars Foundation coaches, Wullie, Dave and his assorted helpers, Sandy and me.

Yer a divvil GG.
My brain is mush at this moment in time.
I love what the schools engagement programme group do - amazing community connections with the younger generation and the players being so committed.
FWIW I had no idea Ian Kirk was the new assistant kit man - what a fabulous job!

• Pars Tackle Health is run jointly by Sandy Wyse and I. The initiative relies on Pars players visiting local primary schools to talk to pupils about making good lifestyle choices which will hopefully enable them to live a long, happy and healthy life. Dave Mackay organises the player rota. Every player has been in at least 2 schools - some in 3. Everyone has totally bought in to the aims of the initiative. The 3 Pars Foundation coaches also attend these visits and provide a games session for participating pupils. Stats for this season;
The school engagement programme is a fantastic scheme, I remember reading about the Business Management presentation and thinking I`d love to put you in touch with my daughter`s high school, particularly as it`s an SFA performance school. Unfortunately it`s on the "wrong" side of Kincardine Bridge in Falkirk...

I was at the meeting last night. Agree with Ross F. The club seems to be in good hands on and off the park.
Everyone seems to be on the same page.
I left feeling very optimistic and can`t wait for next season to start.

TBH, we’ve had a school group from Kirkcaldy just before Xmas…. I’d be happy to go over the bridge. We tell them it’s a look at a real-life business, which happens to be a football club, and helps them to relate to their own learning.
We need to appeal no non-football fans and non-Pars fans, but it’s always great fun and the hope that in encourages some more to become Pars fans. Ask your school to get in touch!

I`ve just sent an introductory email to the schools engagement address as the school are keen. Thanks again!
