So season over. Overall, given what’s gone on in the league and cups, what’s your score out of 10, and why?

10/10... I`ve already given my reasons near the start of today`s match thread. Practically every performance target would have been met or exceeded this season. That is a remarkable achievement.

Considering the mess of last season, not sure if we could have genuinely done any better than we did this season. Being objective, maybe could have done better in the cups, or had a few more games where we play as well in the first half as well as the second half! That in mind I can see why some would argue a 9, I’ll go for a ten.

10. Hard to call out anything disappointing about this season. Felt like we had more luck than last year, credit to the players, management and all involved at the club for creating a really great culture

We`ve got oot o` that feckin league in one attempt. Imagine if we`d got stuck for a few years. Defo worth ten out of ten with gold stars for everybody involved at the club.

10/10. Most successful season in our history and many club records broken. Only one defeat in 36 is an incredible achievement as well. I`d imagine that defeat will still infuriate McPake as we by all accounts didn`t deserve to lose that. I`d also argue the Falkirk game where we won 2-0 was the most important game in my lifetime. The 2-1 Raith game comes close to that but my massive hatred for Falkirk made it that bit more sweeter!
Hopefully we keep the momentum going next season. Looking at the standard of the Championship, there is no reason why we can`t go into it with confidence that we`ll do well.

10/10, priority was getting out the league and that`s been achieved more than comfortably, which not many would`ve predicted after the calamity at the end of last season.

I doubt there have been many seasons where any team has just lost one league game.
Excluding the gruesome twosome that number will be even smaller.

Not only one loss, but the fewest goals conceded in the league.
2015/16 was great for entertainment purposes, but I think I preferred this seasons performance. In control.

9.9 - Always room for improvement, but it’s been a fabulous season.
Joe Chalmers sums it all up - A broken player after last season couldn’t do anything right on the pitch. This season he’s turned into Franz Beckenbauer - strolling around the midfield like he owns it (….and most games he does). A real class act.

10/10 from me; this team has been a joy to follow, especially away from home where Pars` teams have been pretty fragile over the years I`ve supported them. We must be a nightmare to play against. We deny teams time and space and usually the pressure tells. Coming from 3-0 down to win, playing with 9 men and securing a draw, scoring a winner in added time, all epitomise the fantastic spirit in the squad.
Not so long ago Alloa were our bogey team!

Yeah has to be a 10 when you look at the outcome.
I do think we still have a lot to work on, the slow starts in the first half, I don’t think we’ll get away with that in the Championship and looking back this season a few too many draws for my liking.
All that being said, I’m just being picky.

I`ll go 8/10.
Getting promoted at the first attempt and only losing 1 game out of 36 is obviously about as good an outcome as you could possibly have hoped for, but there`s definitely plenty of room for improvement in terms of the quality of the football we played. We also should have won more of our games at home than we did - there were more than a couple of frustrating draws in there that should have been victories.
We absolutely romped the league in the end but IMO we could and perhaps should have done so even more emphatically.
I`m not complaining though - it`s been a tremendous season.

McPake has been a great appointment.
…….remembering back to August 2021 when we played Partick at home & we soundly beaten 0-3. It was a horrible dawning on us that we weren’t good enough, we were not prepared + we had no plan B (plan A seemed to consist of signing anyone who was available).
I’m convinced that the management are already working on the challenges the Championship will throw at us. It will be difficult but we should fear no one with this team.

10/10 for me. Montrose away a miniscule blip, but that’s vastly outweighed by the number of positives that I don’t think anyone could have predicted or expected. The amount of club records broken along the way, the turnaround in mentality. Everything has been fantastic.

Hmmm. All the stats are off the scale, on those alone it’s turned all the way up to eleven. Yet I have that nagging feeling that we should have done it in more style. How many torrid first halves, and marginally passable seconds? Many times this season I’ve been asked by non-supporters how things are going, and my response has always been “Well, we’re not as bad as the rest of them” :) Okay, harsh, but all things considered, I’ll award a very commendable 8 out of 10.

9.5/10
The mentality, focus and team spirit have been tremendous, and that`s down to the manager and captain. Huge improvements in the performances of Mehmet, Todd, Breen, McCann and Chalmers, and significant contributions from those not getting regular first-team picks such as Todorov and McDonald. The loan players all did well too.
My only reservation is that apart from Falkirk and Airdrie the opposition was pretty poor - but I know you can only beat what`s put in front of you.
It looks as if we will be relying on most of these same players in the Championship - which they completely deserve and I think it`s the "right" thing to do. But a huge amount will depend on how well Bene copes with the pace of Championship forwards, and how well any new players fit in.

The priority was to get out of League 1 as quickly as possible and we`ve strolled it. Remember how bad last season was when we could hardly string two decent results together? If we lost the first goal the best we were hoping for was a draw. As usual though when performances and results improve some say we could have done better or in a more entertaining fashion. I suspect the management team sees it as a work in progress and so far it would be harsh to fault them.

Some games at EEP were not as entertaining as they might have been but for the big game against Falkirk the whole team turned up for that one, very memorable. Surely our away form must be mentioned. I haven`t checked but its possible we won more points away from home than at home. And that game at Airdrie will stick in my mind for a very long time. When we needed a big performance, we produced it. 10/10.

Can’t remember walking out ground disappointed and that includes the single loss when AFIR Falkirk also lost and as everyone expected which proved true Edinburgh would run out of steam.
As some said 10/10 is hard to give and improvement in the cup comps is a very minor disappointment, with penalty shoot out effectively ending the 2 important ones, I’d hope we make a better effort in the next one we face. 9.9/10 for me

If you`re gonna give ten outa ten only for a perfect season, then you`d be judging it against 36 league wins, i.e. 108 points. And how many goals for? And nil against? And ten out of ten performances every game by every player, and SPFL player of the year, and cup winners, etc., etc.
That`s just barmy. I give ten out of ten because we acheived the prime objective - promotion - which is far, far, FAR and away worth more than any other factor. I give it because the club has had a resoundingly successful year, and any "but" is so insignificant compared to that acheivement as to be irrelevant.

Yes, the away form was brilliant. Even though the only defeat was away from home we got 43 points away and 38 at home. That`s quite a feat considering our miserable away form in recent years. It may be difficult to maintain that in the coming season due to stiffer opposition but it`s still remarkable.

I think that was due to teams just sitting in at EEP but opening up a wee bit at home.

My mistake Wee Eck. I was going by Flashscores and and it only went back as far as the Montrose game which I mistakingly took to be the first game of the season.
I shall put on my orthopaedic shoes as I stand corrected.
