Hamilton?
I must admit I don`t keep tabs on the two top leagues (mainly cos we weren`t in either)and my focus has been on our league.
But when did Hamilton become so bad ?
They used to be annual overachievers in the premiership.
Now it looks like they`re in a fight to stay in the championship.
Folk used to use them as a success story on how a team with a limited budget and fan base can not only survive but thrive in the top flight.
I really need to pay more attention to other leagues and not just the one we`re in lol.
So what happened?

Did they ever get back the huge cash scam that they suffered a few seasons ago ?
Might have impacted their options to sign decent players.

AFAIK they only got back a fraction of the near £1m they were scammed out of, and that seriously impacted on their youth development plans.
Given that much of their success had been funded by bringing through talented youngsters and selling them on (McCarthy, McArthur etc) it`s really no surprise they are now in trouble.

I don’t remember New (or Old) Douglas Park ever being even half full, they were always relying on the next sell on, unfortunately for some clubs the recent changes in football transfers model will hit clubs hard.
Players are now on very short term contracts except at the very top end with almost no transfer fees between Scottish clubs, youth development and a strong fan base is the old option for almost all of us, some don’t have both and will find there level (sugar daddy exception)

Notwithstanding the OP, I don`t see any of the teams in second-to-last place in the relegation playoffs losing in the playoffs. Usually, for that team to lose, they have to hit a bad patch of form.
I don`t see Clyde losing with Duffy in charge now.
I don`t see Hamilton losing to any of the League One teams. Hamilton won the Challenge Cup in March.
I don`t see whatever team from the Premiership losing to the winner of the second round of the Championship playoffs. QP looked strong until they lost 3 in a row and gave the title to Dundee.
