From COWS
Todorov and O`Hara were already known to be leaving along with the loan players.
Now confirmed Macdonald will not be offered a new deal and will leave at the end of his contract.
Club is in dialogue with Comrie and Mehmet, assuming they`ve been offered new terms but are maybe holding out to see what else is available for them.

Comrie would be a big blow. Would like to keep Deniz too but not on the rumoured wages, so reckon he could be away.

Should keep Mcdonald, can play both sides and puts in a decent cross, maybe just wants more game time!

More surprised by MacDonald than the other two.
Macdonald may not the quickest but really versatile, as mentioned above, and when attacking seemed to more often than not find a yard of space to get a decent cross in. The cross at Kelty for McCann to win the game was a spot-on.
All the best for the future to all three.

Think it’s the right call on all three of them, they’ll all want more game time. End of the day 1/2 proper quality players with their wages is needed for next season. I would keep comrie but ideally look in the market for someone to challenge his spot. Mehmet had a good season and made some important saves at times, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to shake his start to last season from memory however, I think the defence in front of him has done a great job and I’d be interested to see how many shots he’s faced compared to his stint last season. If wages are an issue I wouldn’t be overly bothered if we looked to get someone else in although I can see the benefit of continuity into the new season.

Interesting to read that McGowan wants to stay next season and will be speaking to McPake to discuss. Would be happy enough if we signed him for next season. If he can get in a full pre-season, he could be a real asset next year and a bit of experience in the middle of the park.

Funnily enough Ianoappar, I was thinking exactly the same thing as I watched the highlights last week. Max`s match experience to date has nearly all been at youth level. It would be a big step for him to be thrown into the hurly burly of Championship football without having more experience of `man`s football`. The management team will know that the goalkeeping situation needs addressing.

You are daft if you think Comrie wouldn’t be a miss. By far one of our most consistent performers over the past few years. Nothing fancy or special but by god he gets the job done well.
If Mehmet wants a significant rise on wages, I wouldn’t be fussed if we let him walk. After all, he wasn’t tested to the level he will be this coming season.

Mehmet is a Londoner to most intents and purposes - born in North London to Turkish Cypriot parents. He could probably make more money playing in the National League for a club much closer to home (Barnet/Borehamwood for example), so I wouldn`t be surprised if he ends up down there.

A keeper that is officially in our history books and will be for some time (possible forever!) I`d love to see him stay. None of the goals we conceded this season were through a Mehmet blunder and he made some fantastic saves. Would be very happy to see him stay.

I didn’t think Stolarczyk was as good as some other fans. He has potential, but also had some real weaknesses and got caught out a few times. He let in some fairly weak looking shots from the edge of the box and obviously had the issue at Hamilton. Whether that was a foul or not, a professional keeper should be keeping that out the net.
Whoever we bring in (or if we keep Mehmet) I’ll back the player and manager. McPake has shown that he has an eye for a player and there has been signs of development in several players, including the goalkeeper, over the last year.

I agree. I remember him having some tremendous saves at Kilmarnock in a game we lost but he had more dodgy games than good ones. I`m hoping Mehmet signs another contract.

Comrie sticks with Pars
Aaron Comrie is the latest of Dunfermline’s title-winning squad to agree a new deal.
The right-back will put pen to paper on a two-year-deal. Comrie’s current contract was set to expire at the end of this month.
The 26-year-old was a big part of James McPake’s side who won the League One title. Comrie has now committed for the Pars’ return to the Championship.
The defender has been with the Fifers since he joined them from St Johnstone in 2019. The likes of Matty Todd, Craig Wighton. Rhys Breen and Joshua Edwards have all recently agreed extensions at East End Park.

Pleased about Comrie. He`s been Mr Consistent since he arrived, apart from when he was bizarrely played in the middle of the defence.
Some of his last-gasp interventions to prevent shooting chances have been outstanding.

Good news. I like Comrie, think he’s a real asset. Solid 7/10 every week, very consistent and has proven he can do it in the championship.
The number of players signing extensions this season is very high. For the last 5/6 years, we seem to have struggled to get anyone to sign contract extensions. Most have left at the end of their initial contract (or earlier). So it’s very good that we seem to be somewhere that players want to stay.

Daily Record...
assuming it is true, there will be one centre half to come in for sure but the next question on Comrie will be do they see him as the 4th option there or will they bring in two centre halfs and mainly look to use him as a wing back if its 3 at the back? dont think he suits the wing back role that well though.
