Just need a real top class striker and we`d be a very serious threat. I love Dykes and Adams is very clever but could do with someone really stepping up. Maybe harsh on Dykes as he`s won us a few games

The last time we played England at Hampden it was like David and Goliath stuff. The gulf in quality was so stark. 6 years later, and we have a fantastic pool of players. I honestly think we are a centre half and striker away from having a team that would go toe to toe with England. Not bad for a toaty country. A proper clinical striker seems to be one of those positions we just can’t seem to sort out.

Jack Hendry becomes the first player to get a call up from a league in the Asian Confederation, and one of a select few to have got a call up from a non UEFA league. The rest have been playing in MLS. Think he`s also got a record for number of foreign clubs played for in terms of Scotland Internationals.

Arsenals treatment of Tierney is frankly bizarre and a strange blot across some of the good things Arteta has done.
Newcastle are my English team (anyone in black and white....) and I was hoping he`d go there. Hope he does well at Sociedad and plays a lot of games.

With Spain 6-1 up in Georgia and Cyprus to play at home it`s not going to happen but, nonetheless, still bonkers that it was a possibility.

Not the same, disgraceful when you are unable to watch your country playing, as far as I am led to believe we are the only European country where it’s PPV to watch the national team. I’ve spent lots following Scotland from 1970, to be disallowed because of money is a total slap in the face.

It`s awful par58 but it`s UEFA that have the rights for the Scotland games not the SFA. ITV and BBC should be doing more to get rights as well. Irish TV somehow have the rights for the Ireland games and I can`t see that costing anymore than our games?
As for the game. What a first half. Cyprus have gave us a few scares but we could have scored another 3. It`s so refreshing seeing us in this position for once. I`m old enough to remember 98 but this has to be the best we`ve been by far since then! Hopefully we can go from strength to strength. We still have a fairly young squad and have much more talent to come through!

A law should be passed to make it illegal for Steve Clarke to leave this Scotland team. I dread to think where we would be without him and what will happen when he leaves. What a turnaround! No one could have predicted we would be in this position after 5 games in what was one of the most difficult groups we could ask for. We have toughest pot 3, 4 and 5 team in our group.

Agreed Rossf, he certainly knows how to get the best from the players at his disposal. Maybe a wee bit of good fortune has attended our last few games. Who could have foreseen the two goals in the last 5 minutes against Norway or the phenominal striking performances McTominay. But Clarke`s man managing skills are superb. He is also understated and modest. He doesn`t claim any glory for himself and keeps the players feet grounded. Worth his weight in gold.

Düsseldorf is a fantastic City but I would say that any city would be good. The train network is second to none and even if we`re playing in Berlin or Hamburg or Munich, you`d be able to get there nae bother. Gonna be in Dortmund, so hopefully we get some game time in The Ruhr 🤞

Pretty sure, according to my pals, that they will be putting on subsidised rail travel, during the tournament, similar to what they have been doing lately. ie €49 for a month`s worth of travel to anywhere in Germany on the RE trains. Staggeringly good value
Plus, free travel in the city, on the day off the game.

My son and I had a weekend there about 30 years ago. My most vivid memory is that he was so excited about seeing a McDonald`s that we had to get off the tram and eat there ... Hope that helps.
Actually, it`s a great place to spend a few days, with everything a tourist might want: old town, great shops, river trips, art and museums, modern architecture, integrated public transport and just a short journey from airport.

Düsseldorf isn`t a bad shout for getting around. It`s mostly clean, but the nightlife is squeezed into one tiny area, and the city itself is boring. Nice at the river though.
Cologne has everything going on and had much bigger and better party areas.
Need any advice on either let me know.

I know it’s out of our hands where our games will be in Germany if we qualify so if you’re looking for somewhere central to book early, I’d suggest going to Frankfurt which is within travelling distance of most venues and has a decent sized Airport which will take you to Berlin if we end up there.
Of course, my wish would be Nordheim Westfalen so we could play at Dortmund.
It’s a perfect venue for Scottish fans.
Many happy memories of the last game there vs Germany which we were unlucky to lose but everyone had a fantastic time.

Dusseldorf is a good bet. Easy train options up to Dortmund all the way down to Frankfurt so you are covering a lot options. Also from Edinburgh you can fly into or out of Cologne, 2 Dusseldorf airports and Frankfurt.
Frankfurt and Dusseldorf are hub airports for a couple of German airlines so any internal flights should be easy to come by

Going to be travelling regardless but that`s a good base for it. When you look at the venue guide it looks fine. We can still end up in Berlin, Munich or Hamburg. As others have said though travel will be subsidised and is easy to get about.

Worked in Germany some 20yrs ago in Ruhr area, great transport links, marvellous beer, Cologne women are beautiful!
Berlin really busy, still had evidence of East/West split, some history to explore.
Base yourself in Frankfurt/Dusseldorf to access all areas, I stayed in Leverkusen which was lovely!
Admire the Porsches that the car hire companies use when arriving at the airport, all models available and with autobahns having no speed limits!
What`s not to enjoy?
