I think there are a few concerns we can put to bed now.
The idea that we are relying on untested youngsters to carry us due to lack of signings can enjoy a snoozefest.
Every one of them is a class act, more than capable at this level.
5 played, mostly against the top sides, and only narrowly losing 1 of them, and just missing out on a victory at Tannadice.
Multiple long term injuries to key players, international duty, suspensions etc - and we are only 5 points from the top with a positive goal difference.
I think the thin squad myth can have a nap too.
The, "Disgraceful, embarrassing" performance of the board, according to some keyboard experts can retire to the land of Nod and remain there.
They know what they are doing. They are getting it right.
Patience all, the future`s bright.

Can`t argue. When the team is winning, the board talk ceases but it`ll be back as soon as points are dropped again no doubt.
The same on every forum across the country. Imagine if we won every week we wouldn`t need a forum ;)

Isn’t this pretty much as dramatic as the folk who called out we would struggle to stay in the league after the raith game? It’s too early to tell either way.
If McCann didn’t have a good day in front of goal would we have still won?
Today was a fantastic result, best result this season by a long shot.
Things will be looking up……..now yogi is gone!

If McCann had enjoyed a good day in front of goal we would have won 4-0. But that`s not to play down his performance. When he latches onto a through pass on either wing, he has pace, control and penetration. Even with his lack of good finishing in the first half, he was still a star performer. His first goal was slightly fortunate since their goalie got a hand to his shot and somehow it found its way into their net. But he was a handful throughout. His second goal was a cracker and its a long time since we`ve had someone who might score from a long free kick. Well done big Lewis.

I didnt say we will win the league. I just said we are looking good despite the well mooted concerns.
I dont think it is too early to suggest we are capable of challenging. Certainly not dramatic.
BTW, we didn't win because McCann had a great day. He missed a few before he scored. We won because as a team we created lots of chances and capitalised on enough.

If McCann did have a good day in front of goal it could have been 4 or 5.

Good post Parrot. Points all well made and indisputable. The board’s decision to give the management team a (fairly) long contract looks to be well founded and the signings and loan signings are bearing that out. We are nowhere near out of our depth in this division and I am confident that we will be up in the play off places, at least, at the end of the season. What a turn around.

We are sixth and the two teams above us have played a game more. If we win our game in hand, we could (depending on GD) move into the play-off positions. If we hadn`t conceded so late against Dundee Utd the table would look even better. Despite the large number of injuries to some of our top players, plus loss of other players through suspension, illness or call-ups, we have done reasonably well.

We should all be worried about James McPake getting us promoted! He knows how to get the best out of his players. Let’s get behind him and the team.

Aye, good post, Parrot. Calling out some of our err...... less optimistic posters, and they don`t like it. 😉
I`ve been convinced we were heading in the right direction for a year now. McPake and Mackay are an excellent double act. They`ve built a really good squad - not just good players but good lads, who get on well together and support one another on and off the pitch.
That`s the way I imagined all clubs were when I started watching football as a kid, that all the players were good mates who got on really well and would often go out together. The reality is usually quite different. Many clubs have players with big egos, which can disrupt dressing room harmony.
The present Pars squad is exceptional in that regard - they really are a team in every sense. They give of their best every week, for each other, for the fans and for the management team. Long may it continue.

Have to admit to being a but concerned with the team and bench yesterday. I really should know better. For over a year the one thing you`ll get from this bunch is organisation, effort and commitment. That only gets you so far tho and when you have guys like Lewis McCann doing things like that then you've got a chance of getting points every week. We`re also fortunate to have a manager and assistant who actually know what they`re doing. They have a plan, if it`s not working they can adapt it to suit whatever comes their way.
We`re doing just fine.

Rovers fans seemed to think QP played a ridiculously high line, which could be exploited.
Looks like McPake et al scouted them, saw they played a ridiculously high line and set up the team to exploit it.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Yesterday was my first Pars game this season and I have to say I was impressed. The defence was solid and Otoo was like a brick wall. We were just better than them all over the park.
It was good to hear the fans getting behind the players. Reading this message board, I occasionally detect hints of negativity towards some of our players but there was no sign of that yesterday.

I wondered how the defence would cope without Bene`s organisation and leadership. If that was a taste of things to come, we`ll be just fine. 🙂
