It is worth watching the highlights of Morton`s game against Dundee United, not just for the clownish goal United conceded, but to appreciate just how unpredictable the Championship can be.

Morton are 3rd bottom, but they seem to have more than matched the league favourites on their own turf. With a bit of better finishing in front of goal, they could have walked away from Tannadice with 3 points. They had previously lost three on the trot to Thistle, Arbroath and the Rovers, conceding 11 goals.
Judging by these highlights, Morton appear to have played a flat back four in a 442. They looked pretty threatening down their left, so Aaron Comrie might have to put in a tough shift next Saturday. But United created enough openings to give us room for optimism that we can do the same.
United are not the finished article by a country mile. Undoubtedly, the league title is far from guaranteed despite the loud noises coming from Tayside.

3 mins 26, check out the United fan reacting to the Morton celebrations - next to his accompanying young child 😂😂😂 there an example to set 🫣
I get the thrust of your main post Oz, but I still can’t see anything other than a fairly straightforward procession to the title for United. They’ve had a couple of off days, but still remain the strongest side I’ve seen by far, with plenty more to come from them. I fully expect them to take care of Raith when they meet and they will go on to start pulling away from the pack. And so they should with the money and quality of that team. United fans though are so fkin arrogant - would be very funny if they flopped. Just don’t see it.

Nah, nothing to fear up Tannadice way. They`ve made themselves targets. Morton more than held their own with them. If Raith didn`t falter against the mighty Pars, I don`t see them being crushed by Dundee Utd. Even Arbroath, who lost heavily to them in the first league game, have improved significantly. I would think Partick Thistle would also have something to say about that. Any team in the league (on their day) would give Dundee Utd a severe test.

I was at the game, Saturday will be won and lost in the middle of the pitch. Power was really effective for them so I would stick hammy on him to nullify that threat. Other than that they’re very much a solid team, will be one goal in it I imagine. Muirheard seems to be a handful up front but nothing to fear.
United are really poor just now, they’ll win the league by not being bad enough not to but not been impressed with them much so far

We`ll win the league parsman. In it to win it, that`s my motto. No point in rooting for other teams after the first few games. After all so many on this forum couldn`t see past Falkirk at this stage last season.

I’d love that to be true. And you can be realistic and expect a team to beat you without rooting for them you know. 😂

Really? I thought Falkirk never looked even close. At any point. Airdrie and Edinhurgh were the early challengers.

After the 1-1 draw with Falkirk at East End, which was the first time we played them, there was a lot of chat on here claiming they were the team most likely to win the league. It didn`t really go away until we beat them in the midweek game at East End in the new year.

In this league I think it`s a case of one game at a time.i don`t think there is much between any team whether at the top or bottom of the league.
I am encouraged by the squad that has been put together, the hard work and effort they have put in that puts us in a good position to weather any storm that comes our way this season.

We need a string of results if we are going to be serious contenders. I’m confident we can get top 4 anyway but even this early a few wins on the bounce would put the sh1tters up Raith and Utd
