Anyone remember him? He was on the Pars’ books back in the late 80s when I was out of the country. I’ve bumped into him at a couple of golf events recently.

The name rings a vague bell, very vague. This is when I started watching the Pars so I wouldn`t have been up to speed with all players. Plus looks like he maybe only played for us twice and only there 1 season so possibly even as a sub.

Past players` profile says he made 2 sub appearances in 1987-88 before moving on to Brechin where he spent 4 seasons. He also played for Edinburgh City (then non-league) and Cowdenbeath.
It says he was a full-back but I thought he was a winger and I have a feeling he was a local lad.

Seem to recall he signed from Dundee ?
On second thoughts, I think I'm confusing him with someone else.. . .John Waddell

Sure I was at a game at Rugby park many years ago and he was playing. Think we won and maybe he scored ?

Just to close this off - I also used to get Waddell and Wardell mixed up - I never saw either of them play.
I think Wardell was a winger; he looked strong and fit. I got the feeling he has a few stories about Dick Campbell that he could tell...
He runs his own business nowadays, and apparently was a Hibs fan growing up.
He doesn`t keep in touch with many ex-Pars but told me he was a pal of Stevie Morrison.
