Was mentioned elsewhere that half of the Legends board has been covered up in crappy advertising.
I`m happy to maximise revenue but let`s stop destroying what makes our ground and club special. Little things add up and we`ll lose our identity and culture surrounding us.
They even took away the seat ymthst you could sit on for a photo I believe.
Dave Cook if you`re reading, please consider things like this. It might bring in a couple hundred quid a week or whatever but it destroys what has been a fantastic part of our ground.

Yep I saw it walking in yesterday. It’s awful - never mind the 50/50 and goal music nonsense. The legends photo gallery is such a stand out and a great intro for the home and away fans.

The way it`s been done makes me think it could be a prelude to the rest of the Legends photos being covered up by other adverts.
I appreciate this is a great advertising location, and the Commercial Manager will probably have revenue targets to meet, but this seems a retrograde step for a club that values its heritage.
The club needs to take control of the narrative here and explain the thinking behind the decision, otherwise it will lose more goodwill.

The narrative, as you alluded, is money. Those running our club saw the opportunity to make some easy money and went for it. Our fanbase don`t care about money, though. They care about the players, past and present.
If the board containing the Pars legends had been relocated in its entirety, fans may have accepted that, but to cover up some of them with a garish ad is quite bizarre and dare I say disrespectful to these players.

I actually looked at the wall at the weekend and never saw the advertisement at all but was pointing out Andrew Tod to someone. So in. General observer view the advert had no impact but the players wall did. I probably would have noticed some time in the future the others were missing, but the advert had zero impact on me.

I see. I`m sure most folk who go to the home end at East End Park already know that the 7 Kings pub is rubbish, so doubt any advertising will make much difference.

I`m fairly sure the adverts on the side of the main stand moved about before the start of the season so hopefully this is a temporary home to meet a contractual obligation and it`ll be moved.
I`d be impressed if people get a response before the end of the week tbh. That`s not a criticism of David Cook, more thinking realistically in terms of his inbox and time to provide an appropriate response.

Why would he possibly have a full inbox? He runs a very small business. The football side is taken care off already as well. I’m sure he’ll reply soon enough

I think the DAFC office is closed on Mondays, so it`s more than a little unrealistic to expect the CEO to be spending his day answering individual complaints. No doubt he`ll want to consult with whoever was involved and then give a considered response, either individually or possibly in a general statement.
As to whether or not the Chairman/CEO of DAFC has a full inbox, I can assure you that running a medium-sized football club is a more-than-fulltime job, so like Ross McArthur before him, DC has plenty of plates to keep spinning, INCLUDING many on the "football" side. Some of those plates may well be much more important and urgent than the Legends photos, however disappointed many of us are about what has happened.

Recieved a reply from David Cook a short while ago.
Basically says that the wall had graffiti, was in bad shape and had some out of date Lifeline benefits mentioned. The plan is to update this appropriately with a new graphic and that because it`s a huge space, it`ll be split 50/50 between that and commercially.
Also, the new music will be binned.
Fair play in replying to him.

I was very disappointed to learn today that our Commercial Manager was verbally abused last night over this while going about his business in the supermarket. Having been down a similar road before, I had hoped we`d seen the last of this kind of behaviour. How naive of me.

Really disappointed to hear that. Unacceptable from whoever that was. Everyone makes mistakes, I’m sure everything was done with the best intentions of improving the match day experience. No harm in supporters offering feedback, but there’s absolutely no need to abuse anyone at all, never mind when they’re trying to get on with their daily life.
There’s a lot that the club are getting right just now. Certainly a lot more than they’re getting wrong, in my opinion. If the biggest complaint supporters have is the music played and the position of an advertising board, that suggests that 99% of what is going on must be going well and the entire board deserve credit for that.
Our board members should be getting praised/thanked, rather than abused. Obviously, that goes for yourself too. The club’s engagement with fans is the best it has been in a long time, there’s a really entertaining group of players on the park every week and we have a very good management team. I think it’s a great time to be a Pars fan just now and I’m grateful for the entire board’s contribution to that.

Absolutely abhorrent that this incident has occurred.
It does though demonstrate why the club needs to control the story when changes are being made to things that mean something to fans. Putting out a tweet beforehand saying that the Legends wall needed some TLC and the club were going to take the opportunity to refresh it would have prevented any thoughts that the clubs heritage was being disrespected and the incident likely wouldn`t have occurred.

Verbal abuse of our Commercial Manager (or anyone else for that matter) is so far beyond acceptable that I would be quite happy if the individual concerned could be identified and banned from EEP.

That`s despicable but not surprising, as you yourself allude. I think you were referring to the brain-dead morons who verbally abused and spat on Ross McArthur and damaged his car.

What an eejit. I hope David reported the incident as most supermarkets have good CCTV coverage.
I`m aware of David but can`t say I`d be able to pick him out in a crowd. For what it`s worth, I`ve only seen positive things since he`s come on board. Appears very professional. That`s in no way taking away from the excellent work carried out by volunteers before he was appointed though. The difference I feel is having someone who has it as a full-time dedicated role.
